This really is a tribute to how good a job actors do of making the world their characters are in be believable to us because it seems real to their character.

It really robs the authenticity of the performance in so many ways. There's something that comes out of an actor when he is in the actual location that doesn't ring true when he's acting in nothing but a green room.

That's pretty awesome, and infact what makes this work is excellent sound designers. Making it look good isn't enough, it needs to sound right too. These examples show the best uses of green screening and environmental audio.

As a film maker, I will tell you I would love nothing more than to place wonderful talent like you on the actual scene to help you feel it, while you act it. However as much as it makes me sad that I can not do that, I am thrilled that there are ways for me to produce clips that I cannot imagine getting funding to do!

@TicTac-g7m7 жыл бұрын
studinthemaking The "green screens" are actually physically part of the movie set or sound stage. They are not "CGI" themselves, but of course they do provide the necessary type of background for CGI to be done.

Thank you for putting this up ! That is the nail in the coffin. It's the proof that TV is garbage... but then... the green screens could be fake too... should have taken the blue pill. So if we can't tell if it's real or not anymore, it ain't worth it. Me, in my life, I don't do fake. The money I pay the cable company is not fake. So I got better things to do, I'm gonna keep the Internet but I'm canceling the TV part. Even the news is now cinema.

@toomanyaccounts12 жыл бұрын
yes it can be in addition to time consuming. You have to have the people travel to the location, arrange permits, have to take in weather as well as secure the scene. Which depending upon the street only allows say 15 minutes or less of filming. So no reshoots or retakes if something goes wrong. You then have to have security etc. So the amount of people involved skyrocket So for tv shows filming in California a green scene set extension can save a ton of money and time.

@xvidzzz Sometimes they do. Costs for Sin City and 300 were kept down nicely that way, and sci-fi TV series use this extensively. It's the question of cost and quality. Full HD needs much more precise work than SDTV or 720p, and costs a lot more. Theatric, with 4 times the resolution of Full HD, ends up costing another order of magnitude more, and there are still giveaways when something isn't real.
