1:34 Not "burning" hydrogen but very hot hydrogen (and some helium). Those "cracks" are actually the borders of convective cells. 2:02 Incorrect, the convective zone is convective because it is not ionized. Deeper down you will get ionized gas. Energy transport is via convection in the outer layers until you hit the radiative zone where the gases are ionized.

It's is kind of cool to realise that we are all made of the same stuff. At some point, the atoms that you are made of, may have been roiling in the plasma of a sun, a primal force that churned and burned and through the passage of time and space, came to be you, a living, thinking extension of the universe that looks back at itself and understands. It is perhaps the most beautiful thing in the universe.

Reason for falling into the sun #15,789- Was feeling kinda chilly in the absolute zero of space.

Even without cold protection in space, it would take a long time before you felt cold because it takes a long time for the heat to just radiate out of you.
@Razoredge
@Razoredge 6 ай бұрын
The coldest parts in Space are two or three degrees above absolute zero, if I'm not mistaking. Because, if it was at absolute zero, even the light would not be able to travel, since nothing, matter, particles or even atoms can move at absolute zero.

The temperature of the microwave background radiation is 2.7 K, but that's not the temperature of all space. Near sources of Energy such as stars the temperature of space is quite higher than that. The temperature of the nightside of the Moon is -120 °C, the temperature of the nightside of Mercury is -140 °C. The temperature on the shaded side of the ISS is also -100 °C, all of those temperatures are higher than - 271 °C.

just a fun fact, the sun isnt yellow, it just seems yellow from earth because the 'blue' and 'violet' spectrum photons get refracted by the earth's atmosphere, thats why the sky is blue, so we're left by the rest of the spectrum colors in space, the sun is white, cause the fusion reaction is releasing every photon in both the visible and non visible spectrums

Thank you for putting this together. I'd love to see a simulation of what were to happen to each planet if they moved closer to the Sun (at varying distances) and the changes that occur

I loved the Plasma part, ever since I learned about Plasma's role in star formation, I always wondered what it would be like to dive into a stars gigantic Plasma layer.

More info! You only gave the temperature in one place. Also, how long have I been falling? The Jupiter one said several months, IIRC. This one felt a little lazy, and I normally enjoy your vids!

Fun and weird fact: the power density of the core of the sun is about the same as a compost heap, about 270 watts per cubic meter. It doesn't seem like much, but the core of the sun is huge.
