Actually the game is rated M 17+ because the game contains mild language, blood and violence. The ESRB even states that Online Interactions aren’t rated by them because Online play’s usage of vulgar language and behaviour isn’t planned out or predictable. So Halo is M 17+, because of the campaign, and not from online experience.
