I have been living aboard my Star MAX for the past 3 weeks. Got a NURSA, a small ground vehicle and an ATLS. Solid ship. Plenty of cargo options, and the ability to carry several vehicles.

@@ForgeCoreGaming Yeah. You can see the wear at the junctions of the panels. I'm using the CitCon skin, and it is holding ok with my schedule 😅 Not doing any combat tho. Pure cargo/deliveries or errands.

I was emotionally committed to my Freelancer MAX, it being a namesake of the game that brought me here. But my first understanding of the Starlancer MAX forced an immediate head over heart decision. Now that I have seen a Nursa in its natural habitat, I am committed, it’s on my agenda, it can be called “Freelancer”

This ship IMO is a great exploration ship as well! Since you can live happily on it for endless periods of time unlike other ships it makes a perfect candidate for solo or crewed expeditions !

100% agree.. it scratches my deep space exploration itch.. though it does need a bit more quantum fuel to be REALLY effective at that.

@@ForgeCoreGaming another amazing idea is since this is a rather larger ship and has no captains quarters there is a nice space you could do own. You could place a bed night stand some gear on either the left or right side of the garage and have your own custom captains quarters ! Still have room for the ursa and another vehicle plus walking space !

Loved it! Beautiful video and gameplay. I’ve only been able to take my SL MAX out a couple of times but you’ve helped me figure out the best style of play I’d want to try next.

You’ve turned my mind around on starting with the Starlancer MAX after the wipe. I like Roc mining so I’ll work towards buying one in game. Not sure if you’re aware but in the latest patch you have to hit the scan while extracting and then you get a snapshot of where the gems are, and can Hoover them up more efficiently. Just hit scan every so often to keep them on screen.

Thanks for the tip! I was scanning kinda frequently, but I think server ping was acting up.. because I swear I was aiming right at them most times. I'm glad you liked the video! The stargazer has quickly become my favorite ship.

@@ForgeCoreGaming Got to park the N'ursa in first towards the right side then the CSV behind it (maybe Max Tractor), and then the ROCs fit in. The back ROC might be on the ramp a little. This way of the ROC blows up you have a second one and don't need to go back.

I always thought the Freelancer Max was a great daily driver, and the Starlancer Max is just more in every way that is still manageable. I'd like to see some short and varied live aboards where you try like an Avenger or Intrepid to move up to something like a Connie or Starlancer Max, would be good for regular backers to see how they can get more out of the game.

Curious what a live-aboard would be like running a Polaris solo. You'd need more ships in it for different circumstances, but I kinda love that idea.

Im currently doing a live aboard on the intrepid. Its pretty difficult but im enjoying doing small cargo, box delivery, and bountry missions

It really is TOUGH to make an appreciable amount of money in a short time unless you're running the higher end bounties with good loot, or have your own Prospector for quantanium mining. (Salvage is okay money, but it's not the gravy train it was when the Vulture first dropped.) Right now Hauling is my go-to, and with the Starlancer i've been able to chain together overlapping contracts to bring in like 100k an hour. It's not fast money, and the big time sink is making sure you keep the cargo for your various destinations sorted and separated, lol) but it keeps fuel in the tanks and is a steady build toward a financial goal. It's been my experience that ROC mining is makes me little more money than just finding a good cave and filling a handful of backpacks with mineables in the same amount of time.

Yeah, I'm realizing the same thing. It's like bounties are BiS for making money right now, and nothing else even comes close. Of course there's a risk of being pirated or killed, but it's pretty much the same risk with everything else.

@ForgeCoreGaming i mean, i guess the difference in pay reflects the difference between actively seeking combat, and there just being the passive potential for a fight. They seem to have upped the pay for bunkers in 4.0 with that philosophy in mind too, so that'll help in the post wipe era.

I've been looking for footage people actually using the Starlancer for bunker runs! The Starlancer seems to have very little ground clearance, which would make it difficult to park on non-flat surfaces, leading to ramps not extending far enough to reach the ground, or too far and lifting the entire ship. What were your experiences with parking this thing near bunkers?

My experience is pretty aligned with your presumptions. Kinda.. I generally don't have an issue landing, but I do always look for a nice flat spot. Sometimes the ramps do touch the ground a bit, but it doesn't start somersaulting like the carrack. The side loading ramps tend to balance it out just fine. I've never not been able to get back in my ship.

Yeah it wasn't a nerf, some folks data mining made noise about nothing. The vtol thruster value had been added to the thrusters when that got fixed folks cried nerf but it had no noticeable effect on the ship

How many times have you gotten bugged where you can't interact with the ship? Every time I try to use it I get bugged can't get back into the ship.

Been making my sl max home base. But server keeps breaking the experience. Last night was my 6th try then I fell off the map. Lost my ship, nursa, stv, supplies and 8scu worth of loots from my previous bunker missions. Worst of all I lost my trusty grenade launcher and railgun. I feel down for now probably won't play again until 4.0 comes out.
