Starlink 12V Conversion - Always Connected

In this episode Rob and Paul head to Reno, NV to see KP at Zero Declination to take care of a few popup camper projects. Paul has some extra solar installed, and Rob gets his rear-view video mirror working using a new product from ‪@camerasource‬ for the 2021 RAM 3500. The main point of the trip however, was to install a new product from Star Mount Systems that flat mounts the Starlink dish to the Four Wheel Camper (‪@FourWheelCampers‬ ) and converts it to an all in one 12V solution that contains the dish and router all in one unit that is mounted to the roof.

Interesting new all-in-one flat mount. If you care about getting best internet speed you need to replace the 12V to 48V up converter that you're re using (only briefly shown in the video). That power supply is noisy and forces the router to downgrade router-to-dishy link speed from 1 Gbps to 100 Mbps. I have had that experience as have others as documented on the internet if you search. It's an easy swap since the power supply is in your camper and not inside the flat mount. RIP in-motion internet as of Oct 1...
