Had it for over 4 months in the country it's amazing I regularly get steam download speeds of 20 MB a sec, that's megabytes a second not megabits.I found it runs far better through a dedicated router I recommend the Tp-link ER605

Makes a lot of sense for rural areas but for metro areas it’s FTTP or Fixed MMWave wireless, I’m with Gigacomm and hope they go national with their network, I get 1Gb down, 100Mbps up and 1ms latency 24x7 rain or shine

That's fantastic! Out here on lower Yorke Peninsula we get 0.3 - 5MB/s download, 0.1 - 0.5MB/s upload and 700 - 1300ms latency with Sky Muster, it's extremely unstable, $55 a month for 45gb capped. There's no mobile towers of any company here either so we're super excited to get Starlink finally.

Yes I have, it's faster than anyone I know, all over the country; often times 24MB/s, that's megabytes not bits. Ping is also excellent, so gaming is fantastic, it never goes offline either, though I'd imagine a thunderstorm would drop it. Just easy 10/10 I highly recommend it@@notabot0001

Appreciate the effort & detailed insight here, Pat. You can see why so many prefer Starlink to NBN Satellite. Your FTTN is pretty excellent, so at least you have a decent fixed connection. Btw, are you still doing the Beanstalk streams? It’s been ages since I’ve tuned in (been away & damn busy). Keep the videos coming.

Hi Pat. I live in Perth W.A. and have FTTN. My ISP says I’m limited to 50 MpS, but I noticed your vlog shows you FTTN as 100MpS. How can you get 100mpS? My son is an avid gamer who is annoyed by our “slow” NBN service. Sometime (soon?) in 2024 we’re supposed to get FTTC. Until then (if it happens) we have to lump it. How can I get 100MpS through my NBN in Perth metropolitan area?

with everything wireless being deployed with POE subsystem why have something with special connector better to standardize it so it can exist with other services.. Given how flaky fttn can be i would state xg and ubiquiti air fiber can also be an additional solutions to added for additional back bone support.. though like with other wireless solutions what are you expecting to host from it???? looking at my home network infrastructure I would state roughly about 2-4 devices reality.. though the phyiscal reality you are going to using 50-200 devices on the home network so ask yourself what is more prudent for a deployment Looking at my entire network xbox, 360, one, one x one s, series x, ps2, ps3, ps4, ps4 pro, ps5, 4 tv's, 4 blue ray players 1 6 disc dvd player 3 avr's, 1 desktop, several laptops and the list goes on at last estimation i own 20+ consoles that can be served by network connection of some type, how many devices do you have that is served with a lan or wifi connection with everything within the household coming with a lan and/or wifi connection what and how many devices do you have within your home requiring some form of internet connection and network connection of some form whether that be wired or wireless by nature??? wireless isn't be all or end all support people think it is reality fois is the only real option for a future, wireless anything great to have it though operational caveats to what they are what you hosting in your home network including all out buildings in that footprint..

My mate in Perth was on Starlink and he was getting 1-5sec dropouts every few minutes which made gaming terrible. In a game of LoL he would be disconnecting and re-connecting all of the time. I'm pretty sure his Starlink had clean line of sight to the stars as well. I'm not sure if this is just a Perth Starlink thing, AU Starlink thing, or full Starlink thing in general. I was quite surprised to find out about it.

Why's it limited to 150 down? And is the data limit for on peak as well as off peak? I'm with spintel and pay $85 for 100/20 and actually get 110/22 I just can't justify spending almost double and only getting slightly faster down speed but worse upload speed. Guess it's great for people in the country that can't get anything

Spot on Keith, its definitly not for you, but there are people who cannot get anywhere near that service nor service at all. It seems to be limited due to coverage here in Aus, the US has speeds of 300mbps.
