Yes, a rather ridiculous phenomenon that affects some truly excellent male dancers. For some inexplicable reason, they must feel that being really skilled is just not enough, and they must also stand out by looking like clowns in terms of one or more of outfit, hairstyle, and bling. In all fairness, Mr Benlahsen has managed to shake off this condition in his more recent appearances. Other offenders include the great Jorge Burgos (but then, he's also a bachatero) and many others, among them several Italian dancers. Counterexamples: Maykel Fonts, Tito Ortos, Nery Garcia. Fortunately, the women seem immune to this affliction and pretty much always look sexy and/or elegant.
