This story was supposed to be not a century ago, and it’s been a few decades since surrogacy has been common enough in US - now, there are at least two known celebrities who used that route to have children. Which meant that they could find a suitable woman to carry the foetus to term, while the genes were those of the couple? Wasn’t there even a Hindi film, Filhal, exactly on this precise topic, several years before this serial began? After all, the profuse Tera of Akshara can’t be about pregnancy and the experience of childbirth, but about having children of her own. In US, at least one woman carried her daughter’s baby to term, so surrogacy wasn’t a problem emotionally or otherwise. Here, there are several options within Birla family.
