It looks like Tite Kubo still needed time to work out a lot of captains bankai at that point, so instead of a 1v1 he balanced things out by making it a 1v4 without them going bankai. But Starrk still felt like he didn't put in an effort. Also kind of unrelated but Starrk's constant comments on Shunsui being uncharacteristic, felt sort of like breaking the fourth wall. Since I and I'm sure others felt like his back stabbing and blood thirsty act now was different from what we've known him to be like in the soul society arc. If he wasn't acting uncharacteristic we'd have two opponents who are very alike and don't wanna fight, so it would be difficult to have a fight happen. Starrk's suggestion just to take it easy until everyone was done, was pretty much like what Shunsui was like towards Sado. Suggesting to sit down and have some sake. So he suddenly had to become uncharacteristic to have a fight.

In the manga, Lilynette died alongside Starrk. She never sacrificed herself in the manga. Starrk just gave up.

Quite the controvertial that he didnt fight a bankai But if you think about it a shikai with a hollow mask can be consired bankai level of powerup and he fought 2 of them And fought 4 captains and 2 of them are one the stronger and wiser ones Shunsui is one of the stronger ones I can even say he can beat the current kenpachi As he relies on physical force and tanking attacks While shunsui relies on trickery and strategies

I can't help but wonder more about Starrk. Like, how much of his ability did he show in this whole 1vs1, 2vs1, 2vs1, 1vs1 fight? He really didn't seem all that motivated throughout the entirety of it all. I mean, he could've combined a Gran Rey Cero and the Sub Machine Gun Cero maybe and the fight might've ended right there. Also, he looked like he became an Arrancar on his own so does that mean he didn't receive any boosts from the Hyogyoku and still placed as the Primera Espada?

Grimmjow, Stark, Ulquiorra and Harribel are my favorite espada, in that order. I think Stark and Harribel have the saddest backstories and are also the "least bad guys" of the group. One just didn't want to be alone and the other wanted to protect her family. Thats the only reason they joined Aizen and followed him. I wish Stark survived so he could help out in the TYBW like Grimmjow (epic scene with him and a certain Quincy i really like), Nel and the others.

Starrk wasn’t even a bad person. He just followed Aizen because he gave him comrades to be with so that he’s not alone and he wanted to repay Aizen for that. He was just alone and wanted comrades. Very sad. I definitely think out of all the Espada, Starrk deserved to live the most. Not saying some of the others didn’t, just saying Starrk deserved to live cause he was a good person.

I think Aizen did what he did at the end *because* Stark died. Stark/Lillynette should not have lost. They were way too strong and let themselves be defeated. Thus their defeat left Aizen frustrated and that's why he discarded Halibel the way he did. Aizen isn't one to show his emotions, but through this action I think we can see how deeply losing Stark affected him.

It's not underwhelming, Shunsui is just overwhelming, anyone there except Aizen gets clapped by Shunsui. I don't know why people don't recognize the fact that Shunsui beat number 1 espada with his Shikai and say nothing about his strength at this point in the story.

Yes he did get weakened, he did fight captain class level opponents (although the Bankai sized amps is just an asspull from you, we have no idea how strong their hollow forms are, just because Ichigo is OP doesn't mean they are as well) I never said Shunsui Shikai > Stark, I just said he was defeated by it, although I personally think Shunsui Shikai is only very closely beat by Stark, and that's not taking into consideration the hundreds of years of combat experience that Stark does not have and in my opinion would be his downfall in the battle even if he is stronger. You seem personally attacked, I too like Stark, he is a great character. I just wanted to point out the fact that no one seems to realize how strong Shunsui is based on this fight. And we both know that Stark against Shunsui never stands a chance if he uses Bankai.

Remember Shunsui’s zanpakuto’s abilities is to make children’s game a reality, those who do not follow those rules loses and die. From what we see the hollow hole appears black and any child who saw it would say the same thing thus when Shunsui calls out black that hole became vulnerable. At least that’s what I interpret from it.
