I used to call "Black Mamba", "Next Level" and "Savage" the holy trinity of aespa. When someone checks out these MV's and isn't a fan afterwards he or she is either deaf and blind or simply doesn't (and will never) like aespa.

This was the song that made the 1st PAK in the entire 4th generation. aespa broke the curse since 3rd generation because nobody in the 4th genreration before aespa debut has ever made it (izone, gidle, itzy, gfriend etc).

Zu zu zu zu! Savage is incredible. I know a lot of people don’t like the ending because the layered vocals and the sounds are overwhelming and almost syncopated, but I’m an nctzen so this is right up my alley 😏 Savage is Aespa’s Sticker 😂

I absolutely love Karina's vocal! She is such a well rounded idol who does everything well! Also Savage has one of the best instrumentals I have heard especially the bridge, you can try listening to the instrumental version only, it will elevate you to heaven lol.

OKAY BUT SAVAGE IS SOMETHING ELSE like how does this song even exist???? It's crazy. Truly the most song, ever. The instrumental for Savage is honestly out of the world and ahhhhh the vocals are insane! ESPECAILLY when Winter adds a lil extra seasoning and growls some of her lines!!!! Honestly just everything about Savage is incredible, Giselle's and Karina's rap, the heavenly bridge and then Ning Ning and Winter GOING IN on the outro, they were feeling EMOTIONS in the recording booth that day, good lord. Black Mamba, Next Level, Savage, and Girls are all lore related, yes a narrative where they seek out to defeat the Black Mamba. In this series many terms that they created comes up like Kwangya, Naevis, etc. They even have 3 episode mini movies in between these songs to fill up some of the lore. In short Black Mamba represents the darkness of social media, the hate Aespa faced and their battle to survive the harshness of being an idol... This series ends with "Girls" which has some inspiring lyrics which imo is the best song in the series, but also later on "Welcome to my World" serves as an epilogue to the series 👍

One of my favorites. Whenever I listen to a new kpop group I am always impressed by how good everything is but often after the newness wears off, it starts to feel same-y and I lose interest. SM groups in general and Aespa in particular just seem to get better the more I go back and listen. I liked Aespa from the start but they've become one of my ult girl groups.

Loving your Aespa journey :) Do you have any plans to watch the SMCU episodes? (there's 3 episodes total that cover the story from their debut to My World). Whilst it wouldn't be a song reaction, I'd love to see your reactions to those as its not something you see with every kpop group and its pretty much like its own marvel comic story but with a mixed media style to it(live action, animation, comic panels etc) + they actually do a lot of the combat stunts too which is really cool 😎 If you ever do decide to check them out these are the episode names, from their official channel: aespa 에스파 'ep.1 Black Mamba' - SM Culture Universe (this ones 10 minutes long) aespa 에스파 ‘ep.2 Next Level’ - SM Culture Universe (This ones 17 mins long) aespa 에스파 'ep.3 Girls (Don’t you know I’m a Savage?)' - SM Culture Universe (This one is also 17 mins long and concludes the Black mamba arc) Armageddon is part of the story for the 2nd story arc, with Aespa now dealing with multiverse versions of themselves (we saw this in supernova too).

Thanks for your reaction! I'm not going to lie, but the earlier Aespa songs just didn't click with me fully. There were many parts that I absolutely LOVED, but then there were too many parts that I felt were off-set by the jarring song structure shifts. Some people loved this style--and I am very happy for them--but for me, I found it very off-putting. I am very happy that Aespa's recent song structures have been more "conventional", which allows me to more fully enjoy each song in its entirety.
