As an indian what that actress basically said is she doesn't want a free market where the audience gets to choose what movie they watch but a market where only trashy domestic films are played so they can make more money, its not a jab specifically to reynolds. Half of these beefs don't actually seem to be actual beefs tbh
@roblb952 ай бұрын
Yeah, when she said that, I did think to myself that was quite a stupid agenda to try and push. The audience should get to decide what they want to see... although CHOOSING to see "Free Guy" should be considered a crime. But to force Indian audiences to watch domestic films, although yes it helps the local studios and whatnot, it just seems very totalitarian.
@somedude48792 ай бұрын
@@roblb95 i agree although i doubt local studios and actors need much help there, they live some of the most lavish lives. Most of the actors and workers there are the result of nepotism (which Kangana advocates against) so they are already doing quite well with rich parents in the industry, a few big international movies isn't going to hurt them at all.

you know very well what he meant. Tarantino spends years making his movies. He puts a lot of research into them. And his films get a different kind of recognition. It's great that Ryan is willing to make fun of himself and dip into lower brow comedy to entertain people, but asking Tarantino to spend his valuable time on such a thing was reaching. Worse yet, he almost compared Tarantino's style to Deadpool, which would be downright insulting. Not saying Deadpool isn't funny, but they made it as cheaply as possible with pop culture references substituting for any feasible plot. Why would someone like Tarantino direct that? What would he even add? Half the job would be in post stitching in the cameos from people who recorded their scenes in less than a day without even setting foot on set.
@AlmostEthical3 ай бұрын
Reynolds is a good guy. He has a vision for Deadpool that works, and he doesn't want it messed up. That's not being difficult, that's doing his job for the fans and shareholders. Half the people on here saying "can't stand" is a reach. Saying I don't watch his movies (Butler) is hardly a dig especially when you're busy making movies yourself and likely don't have a ton of time. The girls thing could easily be a misunderstanding (didn't hear them or the request etc). The only 2 real ones at Ryan personally is Simon and QT. Considering they won a championship and brought attention I would say it's more than just a "show" for the city, and fans and he he just sounds salty. QT's reaction isn't surprising, but he is very selective w/ who he works w/ and what he watches and always has been. Oh, and Millers but his is legit. I notice it tends to be people with questionable values and/or shallow personalities who have the most to gripe about. Could it be they hate the old fashioned values, the love of America, the heroes? Mostly these other people prefers dark degenerate stories, with a lot of progressive edgy behavior, certainly nothing uplifting and heroic to brighten folk’s hearts. Lord willing - the crazy ‘woke’ stories have run their path, and we can get back to telling stories worth watching… even if they’re raucous and crudely funny. I can understand Kangana Ranaut being keen that "Hollywood" movies don't take over from "Bollywood" movies in India. However, a lot of Bollywood Style and Indian based films have made huge bank in Western Countries, although most, I admit, were made by Western film Companies - Slumdog Millionaire and East is East being 2 that immediately spring to mind. I can honestly say that I have not seen many real Bollywood films, but what I am trying to say is that, you cannot have it both ways. I think the aforementioned films were made as a result of Western people trying to understand Eastern Culture. If people are curious, or simply enjoy a certain kind of film, you cannot force them into not watching something by guilting them into doing so - maybe the Film Industry in India should be looking at how Western film are structured, or made, and trying to give the Indian people what they so obviously want, while adhering to their own values, etc. Before anyone has a "go" at me, I am not insensitive to other cultures. However, as the West becomes more Multicultural, it seems ironic that other Cultures want to keep their own identities, in their own Countries. xxx
