Here's my video toy review of the Transformers Masterpiece MP-11 Starscream Takara Tomy Reissue! This is version that includes his coronation gear from Transformers: The Movie. This figure is a heavily retooled version of the MP-03 Starscream. And just like THAT figure, this figure soils the good name of the Transformers Masterpiece toyline. It's not bad, but when it comes to Masterpiece, we shouldn't settle for "meh".

See, the problem with mp11 starscream was he was a mear retooling of the original mp03 starscream, hence why priority of the modes was STILL more on the jet form, however this retooling shifted some of it back to robot with the improved heel spurs (the engine detail was once static but they retooled them to help support him just standing) removal of side skirt kibble (old one had them looking like sword scabbards in robot mode...half arse homage to armada starscream to excuse the fact they're just there to hide the under-jet kibble) and a better if...lifeless robot mode head, I personally prefer the aesthetic choices as the robot looks great, trying to get it cartoon accurate to the max is a bit jarring depending on one's taste and tolerance of a badly animated 80's show that we all know and love. The other problem is you...have the reissue of the original, 2011 figure (yep mp11 came out in 2011), its know for poor quality control, considering how old the mold is its a wonder they haven't made a new version yet, considering how many times it's been used by takara AND hasbro its a wonder the figures don't fall apart out of the box *takara* starscream, skywarp, thundercracker (each of these have had an asia re-release so 2x), retooled into ramjet (who was THE WORST QC RIDDEN MESS EVER), dirge, thrust, sunstorm and acidstorm *hasbro* starscream, thundercracker, sunstorm, acidstorm (people are waiting on a hasbro skywarp for that toy accuracy goodness) I...own each of the hasbro versions and the takara conehead retools and after sunstorm the quality went out the door, the first hasbro use of the mp11 mold, thundercracker I can grab and shake and he'd hold, their starscream which came out later...he doesn't even tab together correctly. *I spent so much money on the same god damn toy so many times and I just want them to just stop, curse my addiction to 1/60 transforming jets*

Masterpiece Starscream 3.0 you say you want? Well my boy, it's coming. Actually very soon. I hear it is releasing in June or May of this year I am in now, 2021. I think it will have a clean back, a waist swivel, and from the promotional images, you can obviously see it will have both cartoon accuracy and an ankle tilt.

You should review Masterpiece G1 Wheeljack (Both the G1 cartoon and G1 toy-accurate paint scheme versions of the mold), Masterpiece G1 Sunstreaker, Masterpiece Cordon and vice versa. I like MOST of TakaraTomy's Masterpiece Transformers figures and there are some that I don't care for.

The funny thing is...I'd say the older mold of Masterpiece Starscream is better. I have both, in different forms. Skywarp, and Acid Storm. The MP 3 mold seems to not fall apart at the torso easily in my experience, and has an ankle pivot. Also, changing face.
