21:14 This is just late info for anyone else. This choice can be subjective. More cargo to carry or more supplies? Plus 50% cargo for all ships in your fleet, sort-of. There seems to be a built in cap or limit. So for instance, the more cargo ships you acquire, the less the actual percentage is applied across all ships. I'm guessing up to the cap. One benefit of this is not needing an Expanded Cargo mod. Plus 50% salvage, well that means more supplies and fuel, basically. Salvaging single ship might yield 1 or 2 extra supplies. While salvaging a debris field should typically yield a little more. And salvaging a research or mining rig might yield an extra 25 or so supplies. The later sounds good if you're in deep space and run out of supplies. But if you have no storage capacity in the first place, you'll just be throwing away loot. Zing!

Another cool one! With all the piracy and smuggling going on I started to loose my initial love for the Independents.. I guess in piracy everything goes! For a lightweight cargo ship I always like to have a Pirate Buffalo they are cheap and also have shielded cargo holds :) Speaking of which got two ship names: Cats Craddle - any fat ship like Mora or Drover TNT - A pirate buffalo or colossus if you ever get one of those :)

hey man im still trying to understand this game...i tried starting without the tutorial after playing through it a couple of times and for some reason on all fights...my character and main ship decide to fly straight forward into the midle of the enemy cluster and die...im also only getting missions that are a hellishly long way aways from my current point..im totally confused on the starting phase of the game :S

I remember balking at those long-distance missions, but they're very doable if you grab yourself a dram and just run sensor packages. To prevent your fleet from charging headlong, definitely do that fleet commands tutorial. You want to assign defense points to keep your fleet together until you decide to go on the offensive.

9:15 the reason your engines dont work terribly well is, because of that enemy ship near you using ion beams on your engines to shut them down...

"we left thousands of supplies in space and now that we are at a spaceport where we can install expanded cargo holds lets go ahead and sell this Buffalo. great, now that thats done lets head back out and pick up a fraction of that cargo we left." why not just keep it for a minute and pick up the rest of the cargo first? lol

I think I mis-remembered how much stuff I'd left out in space. I thought I could grab it without the buffalo. Not saying you're wrong, though.

In my current play-through, my fleet consists of 6 buffalos. They have a default cargo capacity of 400. They only use 2 fuel. A cargo ship that has d-mods is better than no cargo ship at all. And Wade (Wage, Rage?) didn't have to buy them. This was frustrating to watch. It reminded me of every other Space game where devs design in pirates but the pirates only ever attack. They never, ever take any cargo or loot and not because the dev programmed AI left that code out. Because they don't have a way to transport it.
