@@MrRobot-0 it's all about timing, honestly. You don't have to spend all the time in phase (flux's a bitch), you can armor tank kinetics, just phase out when a HE or some reaper is inbound. Phase ships aren't meant for the battle line i think, they are ambushers/finishers (doom's BITE ZA DUSTO for example) or harassers/supporters (antropy amplifier). Another thing that sort of locks the deal as a suppprter is that all their systems work while they are phased. They can break the enemy battle line pretty easily, just mind that you'll need to have the rest of your fleet to deliver damage when the battle line is broken. I have run doom behind enemy lines on 0.91, before the nerf, aand it was a great. It's still a viable strategy, just mind the speed and level while phased. When you're ambushed and can't run - you're boned.

Ah yes the dreaded Buffalo Mk. II, a ship where a mere presence in space can damage its poor welded hull... Until you realize that ship is dirt cheap, only cost 2 supplies per day to maintain 20 heavily d-modded ship, have 4 missile slots, and can be fitted with a fighter bay. Suddenly you have a fleet of poor nourished ships that can light like a Christmas tree everytime the Hegemony wants their taxes.

This would be good if your fleet wasn't limited to 30 ships. I don't think number of buffalo might can take on anything past the early (or mid if you avoid fights) game. If you want to spam ships, there are better low tech options like the Atlas Mark II

Atlas MK II is actually stupid good though for its cost. It's one DP short of a dominator, but it gets to fire heavier missiles, and shoot ballistics twice as fast and farther away.

I think from all the runs and ships I have used, the Odyssey is my favourite even when I don't want it to be. Skirt around with 360 shield and 2 plasma cannons is really effective and when all else fails, or just for fun, the ship is awesome to ram with.

@@Limrasson best part is that you dont really need the 360 shield. Just automate the plasma cannons and use your mouse to direct the shield. Then add hurricanes on autofire for extra harassment

the aurora is the most vanilla fun i've had in a while. with SO, it practically doesn't even need weapons. just ram anything your size or smaller while keeping your shields up. you can go shopping for enemy ships and bring them back to the bulk of your fleet, all the way from the enemy line (assuming they survive being rammed by you for the entire journey).

Mine is a harbinger. Those thing are super ships lol. With built in mods too you can pretty much use their entire cr time up solo and switch to the next one. Send one to two in first to thin out the enemies, take one in to kill enemies while your capitals distract them or just use single one by itself, it never fails.

The last one is very true. I once had a modified mudskipper with the huge cannon mount and I went and slapped a gattling cannon of some sort on there. Named it the "Suckerpunch punchwagon" and flew it around like I had nothing to loose. I was extremely reckless all the time, because I had both of the yellow skills from the industry skill tree that makes your ship get less D-mods when it blows up. That thing was so easy to repair. I loved it since I never had to pay much to get it up and running again.

I like the vanilla mid tier Conquest as my flagship. I remember having those red double torpedoes on the front to eat through the hull, and to balance both sides of the ship with anti-shield and anti-armor cannons and point laser defenses. I attend to destroy ships with my flagship and my fleet.

i once tried using kite as flagship and my entire ship fleet. it was hard against high tech and remnant, but okay against everything else. using number it takes different way of thinking. i use mod to not to limit my max squad. and end up about 70-80 kite.

Hype gets into its own with SO; it's base flux is just not enough to support medium slot weapons. My preference is 2x Ion Pulsars and an Assault Chaingun. The warp jump is used for chasing down frigates, or getting out of a losing fight. Only use it to close distance head on if you've got another 5 Hypes with you. It's very easy to over extend and go boom.

@@volatile100 yes, and that's a great mission to practise flying the Hype yourself to see if you v enjoy it. The pulsars EMP is enough to shut down the rear facing guns reliably with expanded mags, while the assault chaingun shreds the armor. Just keep an eye on your flux, and practise panic jumping when it gets high to recharge.
