And most amazing thing I is that if you have enough RAM you can run dozens of mods at once and they will not clash, and the game ai will be able to use new ships and weapons from mods reasonably well.

Can confirm. I got it just recently. And I knew I was gonna get addicted to this game. Especially since I have a tendency to heavily mod every pc game I can. But one thing kept tripping me up. Antimatter fuel and supply costs. I just. Cannot get the hang of them. So 2 mods I downloaded were. A mod that lets you convert heavy machinery and metal to supplies. And a mod that lets you harvest fuel from nebulas (Normal space only, not the hyper space ones.) But I didn't end up using these two the way they were intended. See some files came with these 2 mods. Easily editable files. Files that controlled the cost and rates of fuel and supplies. After some simple editing. The machine and steel costs were reduced to 0.0001 each so they're basically unlimited, and produced 500 supplies per second. While the fuel was extremely cheap. And drained extremely slowly. I can literally cross all of hyper space on like 2 things of fuel. Yes it's cheating but I really don't care. I'm here to have fun and these were the only things stopping me from having fun. So I worked around them. I'm doing everything else legit though. (Or as legit as it gets with mods.) However if anyone have suggestions for dealing with these problems the correct way i'm all ears. (And please don't say obvious stuff like just don't travel as far or have extra supplies and fuel. That's hard to do in the early game when you're broke. And all the missions are spawning 800 million lightyears away for whatever reason.)

I once made jalapeno poppers at home, and me being wise, decided that I can hold off on going to the bathroom until after I'm finished prepping the peppers. It was really hurting about halfway through the prepping, so I rushed from the cutting board to the bathroom without washing my hands off first. Now, most of the jalapenos that are sold at my local store are usually no more spicy than a bell pepper, but that particular bunch of jalapenos was pretty damn spicy, only I found that out in the bathroom, before I even ate any of the peppers. I'm just glad that I remembered to be extra thorough while taking my shower that night, otherwise my then-girlfriend would have shared in that fun as well.

@@marley7868 my personal mod recommendation for you to start off with the game would be : -diable avionics (really good faction mod) -tahlan shipworks -Ship/weapon pack imo this three great mod is good enough for you to start off with until you get more familiar with the basic of game, of course you can also add other mods for QOL if you want to. and then theres nexerin mod... it add so much feature and content that makes the game more alive than it already is, but i recommend only playing it after youre more familiar with the game, cus otherwise it'll be overwhelming.

@@marley7868 i'll just give my current modlist, it's long ways out from the vanilla game, but it's not quite alien enough for it to be too confusing (in alphabetic order apart from Lib's, as it appears in the modlist; but i'll bolden the ones that most people should have IMO): *Drone Lib* *Lazy Lib* *Magic Lib* *Graphic Lib* (this and the above are basically what makes the other mods work, on top of some changes in them) Another Portait Pack (self-explanatory) Apex Design Collective (high-end militaristic faction) Brighton Federation (part of the HMI modpack, scavenger-like faction) *Combat Chatter* (self-explanatory) Commissioned Crews (bonuses for being commissioned by a faction/having allied factions in Nexerelin) *Console Commands* (self-explanatory, used to put extra stable locations with this on empty systems) DIY Planets (terraforming planets, getting rid of their anomalies, kinda OP tbh) Dassault-Mikoyan Engineering (high-tech faction, lots of really cool weapons) Deluxe Flag Pack (self-explanatory, more faction flags) Grand Colonies (more industries, adds a second page to your planets for 12 extra buildings with negatives for going over the limit) HMI Supervillains (part of the HMI modpack, basically two pirate factions) Hazard Mining Incorporated (main part of the HMI modpack, low-tech monstrosities and extra pirate ships.. and a certain something to look out for if you pay attention or get unlucky enough) High Tech Expansion (ton of new high-tech things, ships and guns) Industrial.Evolution (a bunch more industry/exploration stuff, some things are a little OP despite them saying there's nothing of the sort) Interstellar Imperium (militaristic faction with a bunch of special upgrades to their ships) Legacy of Arkgneisis (terroristic faction, i think they target one faction at a time? cool guns) Machina Void Shipyards (high-tech faction + a couple extra ships, namely a pirate capital and a new station) *Nexerelin* (huge mod, basically the must-have for most players, lets new factions work together, trade and fight eachother, turns the game into a 4X-like with factions actively expanding and invading eachother) *QoL Pack* (self-explanatory, ton of QoL things that you can customise) Scy (high-tech faction, don't remember too much about them but they were kinda neat) *SpeedUp* (self-explanatory, helps in catch-up battles) *Stellar Networks* (QoL modpack, lets you monitor Contracts, Commodities, Markets and Storages better) Terraforming and Station Construction (ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH DIY Planets IF YOU TURN OFF TERRAFORMING IN THIS MOD! adds different stations that you can build yourself out in space) The Star Federation (faction based on the Federation from FTL: Faster than Light, pretty damn cool) *Transponder Off* (QoL modpack, all changes within are customisable) Volkov Industrial Conglomerate (high-tech faction, really fucking cool ships and guns)

I will say, this game is so amazing. I would openly state, without an ounce of hesitance, that this game is 110% worth it. 11/10 game, not only for it's sheer love and care quality of a passion project to end all others, but also because the sheer mind boggling potential this game shows. I have practically never bought a game from anywhere online other than steam or other such official things. But Starsector, once known as starfarer(till some silly copyright or something happened idk, but it's ironic considering the game's lore) is a game that I have followed for so very, very long. And I didn't even hesitate to buy and I've never looked back since. And the best part is that it's not even what they consider a "full" game yet. It has so much to offer and the madlads responsible for making it are like "Meh, needs more everything." and proceed to do just that. And interestingly enough they are doing something I find really quite cool. Something I am dubbing "Adaptive pricing". it's price is actively increasing, slowly and incrementally, as they add more to it. In other words, they aren't going to make you pay full price for what they view as a not-full product. And if you end up buying the game at 25% off it's final price because you took the risk of paying for it early? Then you can just think of it as a reward for giving them the chance in an industry where taking such risks is often proven to be far less than a safe bet. Oh and more proof these devs and their game is worth your money? That code he has? It was given out in the video with the dev's own blessing, they recognized the free advertising for what it was and basically said "Have fun, that's all we ask." and it WORKS, it works really well and I am positive that kind of marketing has earned them more than a few lifelong fans that bought the game themselves purely out of respect.

This game makes me feel old and nostalgic. It’s an even better Escape Velocity/Escape Velocity Nova, which had a lot of the same concepts as Star Sector. It just wasn’t as detailed regarding spaceships changing their appearance when you mod them, and didn’t have the “Outlawed/Rogue AI” element for the story. It did have a faction which the player could join (on accident) which is made of psychics who are so powerful that they can MAKE spaceships using the power of their minds. Or the super-secret highly advanced faction that grew their spaceships using the genes of the owner/captain of the ship as a baseline, and allowed for the most broken mods in the game, like “Diamond weave hulls”. F-k me, I LOVED Escape Velocity Nova…I wonder if any of the Star Sector guys worked on it?🤔

If i recall correctly: Cooperative Multiplayer Battles are part of the Basegame, Multiplayer in any other way is completely impossible without remaking the game from scratch, as it's completely impossible because of the engine.
@JohnSmith-ox3gy2 жыл бұрын
The game design would conflict with multiplayer and forcing the engine to multiplayer would be an extreme task. Even if a fan re-wrote the entire game logic in another engine with easier networking solutions you'd be looking at an extremely large project.

Let's see... lengthy discussion of Warhammer 40k and Mass Effect and a discussion of your outside call not related to the video. That was all in the first 10 minutes of video. Simple solution? Just edit that crap out. Better yet, don't do it in the first place. Just a thought.
