+123wickedsweet I actually agree, perhaps the only contender really being AVPS. Darren does a really great job. He's a wonderful emotional writer, has a good ear for themes, and he writes stuff that reminds me of all the Disney movies I grew up with. When I think musical, I think of the music in Disney movies, and Darren gets right up next to that.

In avpm rewatch, Joe Walker (Commander Up) said he wished the bugs looked more hideous because when they look so cute it undermines the idea of "it's hard to get past their awful appearance". I like the bugs the way they are, but I think it's a good point nonetheless. Thoughts?

+Catherine D It's a decent idea, and indeed I'd actually thought of that before he mentioned it, but then he said that the cute bugs therefore ruined the joke of the song "Beauty"..... and that got under my skin because I think that song works a lot better when it's not a joke at all. It's kind of sad that he sees it that way, 'cause it's a beautiful, sincere song. Other than that, yeah, I'd definitely like to see this show performed with the bugs a bit uglier and more alien so it's a bit of a challenge to relate to them.
