Starship Campus Delivery Service with Robots

Starship robots are now delivering food, drinks, parcels and other items on corporate and academic campuses around the world. This new service allows staff the freedom to choose how and where to spend their time during the day.
Starship’s initiative is the first large scale deployment of autonomous delivery services, supporting campuses by implementing robots to assist in work and school environments. The robots offer on-demand delivery anywhere on participating campuses via an app, offering employees the flexibility and convenience of having food delivery when and where they want, eliminating unwanted errands and waiting in line, or transporting items to and from other locations on campus.
Each robot has a sensor suite to enable it to drive autonomously, avoid obstacles and cross roads safely. The robot is locked during a delivery and has tracking to the nearest inch, cameras and alarms.

They’re on my college campus now, and they are cutest things. They patiently wait at crosswalks, go on about their business, and try their best to stay out of the way. The only they’ve been scary is when they detect something that really wasn’t there, correct course, and start driving towards you.

How do you know that? Maybe they have the ability to see ghosts and paranormal entities. Robots are easier to posses than humans so it’s in the robots best interest to respect the poltergeists or risk being taken over.

Starship Technologies, a company founded by an Estonian with its engineering operations in Tallinn. An Estonian by the name of Ahti Heinla who happens to be one of the developers of Skype (along with two other Estonians, Priit Kasesalu and Jaan Tallinn). Amazing how much one small country like Estonia has delivered, and still is delivering, IT solutions to the world. The app seems quite similar to the Bolt (formerly known as Taxify) app for ordering a taxi to take you from point A to point B. Bolt is yet another Estonian company with success in areas that Uber has not been able to access or manage.

They’re at Bowling Green State now, and my sister and I have been following them around campus. The newspaper said there’s 30 of them which will operate from 7:30 AM to 1 PM and take care of 500 orders a day. They look both ways and wait patiently before crossing the road, they have a flag that can light up to signal that they’re there. I feel like the future is within our grasp, WE CAN DO THIS

Instead of being a delivery man, people should learn to be engineers so they could fix the robots. Making some jobs obselete does not remove other jobs that need to be done. 150 years ago 90% of people were farmers. Now it is less than 10% tractors made it happen, food still comes and farmers just found new jobs to apply their time to.

It will get cheaper more durable and efficient as times goes by, by end of this decade it will be every where including drone delivery self driving vehicles, convenient stores and fast food with sensors everywhere where they will only employ one person while ai and bots run everything.
