Starship is Ready But...President Donald Trump, Cali Leader are FORCING FAA to Approve!
All for one!
SpaceX has taken yet another major step forward, showing the world they are fully prepared to launch Starship. But there’s still one major obstacle: the FAA. Its regulations continue to delay the flight of this giant rocket, leaving many disappointed.
Recently, another Congressman spoke out, criticizing the FAA’s restrictions and voicing strong support for SpaceX. Even former President Donald Trump, now a candidate in the upcoming presidential election, has weighed in on the issue. Could this signal the beginning of the end for the FAA’s tight grip?
Meanwhile, Rocket Lab and Intuitive Machines have made important strides of their own in the space industry.
There’s plenty of exciting news to cover today, so let’s dive into it all on this episode of Great SpaceX.
Starship is Ready But...President Donald Trump, Cali Leader are FORCING FAA to Approve!
You probably still remember the awe-inspiring moment when Super Heavy Booster 12 was lifted to an unprecedented height by the Chopsticks. It was a critical test that underscored SpaceX’s determination to catch the booster during the next flight.
Following that step, Starship 30 arrived at the launch pad. After more than three months of anticipation, the moment we’ve all been waiting for finally came. S30 was lifted and fully stacked on B12, marking the first combination of hardware for Flight 5. Before this, B12 had already been installed with the hot staging ring after being placed on the Orbital Launch Mount (OLM).
SpaceX reaffirmed its readiness, declaring: “Starship stacked for Flight 5 and ready for launch.” In fact, they originally announced readiness back in August, after each stage had successfully completed its tests and other crucial preparations.
Starship is Ready But...President Donald Trump, Cali Leader are FORCING FAA to Approve!
The first fully stacked test was conducted on August 23, where SpaceX performed a propellant load test, followed by detanking to assess the efficiency of the fueling process. Afterward, SpaceX stated: "Propellant load test and preflight checkouts complete ahead of Flight 5." Elon Musk echoed this sentiment, reposting with the message: "Starship is ready to fly!"
However, SpaceX emphasized that the launch is still "pending regulatory approval" from the FAA. These updates once again highlight the frustration with the FAA’s delays, which are hindering not only SpaceX’s progress but also the advancement of U.S. aerospace as a whole, opening the door for other nations to close the gap.
Given the current situation, it seems unlikely that the FAA will expedite its decision. The growing criticism against the FAA is louder than ever, even more intense than in previous delays.

The "courtesy title" is extended to all former US Presidents For example, Jimmy Carter is still called "President Carter" in spite of being out of office since 1980. Bill Clinton is still called "President Clinton" but he has not been President since 2000. George Dubbya is also called "President Bush" even though he has not been in office since 2008 Barack Obama is still called "President Obama" even though he has not been in office since 2016. Thus Kevin is correct: the correct title for Donald Trump is "President Trump"

The launch licensing requirement shouldn't even exist. These rockets are aircraft, like a Boeing 747 is an aircraft. A license isn't required for each flight of a 747. Would we be in danger if there was no launch license requirement? No, because a company has a lot to lose if people, property, and the environment is harmed. It is called lawsuits, and it can run into the billions. So they will behave. Like with a Boeing 747, if there is a crash or threatening malfunction, the FAA investigates, and if they believe another launch before the investigation completes threatens people, property, or the environment, they can ground the rocket/aircraft until resolved. In my opinion, a launch license requirement is unnecessary. They can't anticipate what's going to happen anyway. Go by what you know, not by what might be. If property, people, and the environment is not harmed, LEAVE THEM ALONE. My guess was the launch license was political in the first place to limit competition by startups, for the sake of their darling Boeing. Costly regulations benefit large established companies. Boeing Starliner, for example, isn't even regulated by the FAA. The FAA only regulates "commercial" rockets.
