I’m a firm believer that room correction processing should happen at the DAW / system buffer level, and I’m not crazy that the analog signal is resampled, but there’s a lot of great engineering here. Thanks for the review!

Was thinking the same. I've already got the correction included in the audio interface buffer and speakers like these will add to that "for free". According to my measurements, the old micro monitors have less than 1.5ms and are working great with correction. According to their website, these add 3ms. Maybe they won't add that much with correction disabled?

If you can check out the MTM MKII, do! I bought the original Micros and then the MTM MKII. The MTMs with that full calibration are well worth the extra money. Can't go wrong with either, though!

I mean... I have almost recreated that at home, but I converted my garage into a purpose built space. You should have a look at what the guys at Present Day Productions are doing. Granted the price tag is a bit steep for some, but if you've not experienced what a Trinnov can do, see if you can get the chance. Time/phase alignment and a bit of room treatment will do more for most people than spending more money on the monitors. These do look pretty good for £500ish range though, I can see these being mega for people that just have a desk and a groove box/small mixer. That signal correction looks quite impressive, particularly considering it's included in the price.

I have used an older model and they were impressive because I needed something portable and they are surprisingly good. 500 British pounds is pushing the limit on price in my opinion based on build quality. I paid 300 and thought that was good ….one did break it could have been me because like I said I was using for portability.

i own the micro and can attest, that they produce great sound with a mind boggling and pleasant low-end, enjoy them indeed a lot. but i bought the micro pair for 247€ in 2023... price on the pro is listed 665€, that's just nasty.

They seem like a good option,though I will stick with my original iloud Micro speakers in white as I love them in my studio and the bluetooth is really handy. I am always amazed by the sound quality of mine as well, plus I have taken them to other locations so portability is great.

I've got older IK media iloud speakers and I find them perfect for my little space. But I know they aren't "calibrated" right for my weird room so I rely more on head phones. They're great for general listening though and serve their purpose in my studio (I feel weird even calling this room a studio as no one else would). Good to know about this improved version. Perhaps it's time for an upgrade.

Great review and opinion, thanks for that. Love your voice! You sound like a Beatle. 😀 Have you tried the larger 3-way iLoud speakers?

I e not tried it myself. I’ve only heard them in public places. They sounded really good, but I couldn’t give a detailed or precise review/comment.
Haha and that’s why we went metric (on some stuff at least - not pints or miles oddly!)

I really enjoyed your review! Just a small suggestion though-the background music sometimes feels a little distracting from what you’re saying. Your content is already engaging on its own, so maybe it could stand out even more without the music.

They would be handy to have either side of my synth rack where as my 8030’s are either side of my mix station.
@StarskyCarr3 ай бұрын
yeah, and you could probably connect them to your rack using clamps and mic/lighting/photo grip.

So with the DSP being built in, do they still need Windows for the room setup? I am really fond of Linux. That basically determines what I buy.

You can do it standalone

Sad to see bluetooth go, it was incredibly useful to quickly audition tracks from smartphone without booting up a laptop daw, or making tracks on ipad, but it also makes it less portable, which was the main benefit for these speakers. Now we'll need to pack an audio interface, power supply sypply and cables along with laptop if using on the go
@ikmultimedia2 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the comment. Design wise, the reason why Bluetooth is not a feature is that these are two separated independent speakers, so you can’t have a single Bluetooth device listed on an host.
@alubto3 ай бұрын
They advertise a lot about the portability, yet this is way too much trouble to set up on the go

Man don’t push these this company is mega terrible once your products are out of warranty, the speakers sound great no doubt but you’re buying future paperweights

i'm not into these luxury overpriced gear, but sometimes feel that my Hs80 are too large for my room and purpose. should i trade for these micro ilouds, i know they do sound a bit better than yamaha.

Trust issue, you are a synth player right? frequency responce all the way down to sub frequencies. So why are you reviewing speakers not suitable for your usage?
@StarskyCarr3 ай бұрын
They are more than suitable for presenting my KZbin and CTV shows. I do say they buzz at low frequencies earlier compared to the LYD7s. No idea why that would be a trust issue. I also say I have KH310s in the studio and these aren’t a replacement for them 🤷♂️
@XanderEwald3 ай бұрын
You are right to mistrust these sneaky KZbin tricksters. It’s a well-known fact that IK pays them millions to shill these 600 quid speakers. The other day I saw Starsky drive by in his Lambo with BoBeats, champagne flutes in their hands, laughing tears about us simple folk. Stay critical I say! The truth is out there.
