If either brave combat veteran told me his injury was from battle in Ukraine, my heart would skip a beat, I would probably cry with gratitude. I would ask if I could hug you and if you said I could I may not let go. I am so grateful to both of you for the tremendous gift you gave to Ukraine. ❤️

The issue that many ignore is of the returning injured .... i wonder how society will acknowledge them respectfully... its good to be able to talk about it, as we all need to be educated and more accepting. I remember see Yul Brynner in an old film called the magnificent seven, i and thought that guy was super hot .... it not hair that make a man attractive... i don't think it's all about looks pre say, but just the overall character and attitude of a man that make him attractive. ... hair no hair ,eye patch or no eye patch.

I was wanting to help but am older and in my youth the military wouldn't have me. I was a logger that ran a chain saw 10 to 12 hours a day 6 days a week. I could pinch your hand off. But i moved on to mainly equipment operator, road and bridge building, mining, sub grade for new homes. Power lines. A lot of mechanic even servicing. I guess rebuilding. I never married or had family. So i am good to go. I fought bear a few times in Alaska. They wanted to eat me i guess. I am not afraid of being shot at. It has happened . Excavator or D9 Dozer operator in the Artic of Alaska in the Muskegon for years. I don't get stuck. I know how to build for spring thawing. I know how to build road to keep it dry. I don't break down. I see the problems ahead of time. I live primitive. I don't drink or do drugs. I don't get angry. I don't invade. But i will help. 63 but you would think 43.

I lost a good portion of my sense of smell (TBI, not COVID)....I think I'd like to keep my binocular vision. Food doesn't taste recognizable but it's not all bad. I can still taste sweet, sour, bitter, salty, and umami. Chocolate still tastes good. I still like Mexican and Indian...Chinese...eh. A burger still tastes good. It's not all bad...I just can't tell an apple from a pear or if my milk is spoiled but I also can't smell death or sewage.

The folks that do this, go and fight for Ukraine, or serve as medics, especially those that don't have to, deserve great respect and admiration, IMO. Good on ya, guys, stay safe! There are obviously tens of thousands of Ukrainians that deserve respect for their service, as well, but there is a special place for those that are not asked and do not have to, that have no direct pony in the show, and do it out of love for their fellow man and the ideal of democracy and freedom, against a pig aggressor with utterly evil intent (meaning not all of the Russians fighting the Ukrainians, because there are those that don't support the operation, but are just forced to be there, and are fighting in an honorable manner, not committing atrocities. Putin f'ing sucks! Seeing his stupid head roll would be a joy. Many people do not realize that medics are some of the bravest and most at risk, right on the front lines tending to business, therefor without being able to stay combat situationally as aware. I never even thought of trying to shoot left handed, as I just shot at targets for enjoyment. Sounds difficult, to say the least. Do it enough, and I'm sure it can become 2nd nature, though. I learned something about tourniqueting here, if I ever need to use it, as well, so thanks for that. :-) I was always nervous about really cinching the thing and leaving it, but hours sounds like a lot longer than I would have thought. In most cases, in regular life, that wouldn't be necessary, especially at my age now where I'm not hiking, etc., but good to know, anyway. You never know what is going to transpire, no matter how unlikely. WTH does, "The french ones were really good, BUT they were really gourmet" (my italics) mean? To me, that would be an AND. :-) If you guys want to see a hilarious MRE testing video, go watch Lazer Pigs latest installment. It is a Russian MRE, and it is hilarious. They were getting the heaves on a lot of it, and instantly spitting it out, and there was one thing they smelled, and just said, 'NO!'. They found one tolerable thing, and one they said was actually very good, so they looked it up, and that portion of the meal was made in Finland (or somewhere NATO, anyway). At the beginnng they said that this may be their last video, which was a great start. Just fast forward to the times they put something in their mouths each time, if you want laughs without spending a lot of time. Anybody that would cover an eye and laugh at you deserves to be poked in one of theirs, with a pencil. Not really, but almost. A good thump up side the head is definitely called for, not that you could do it. Suffice it to say that people like that aren't even worth your attention. They are shallow children, regardless of their age, that have been VERY poorly brought up, or weren't, and didn't learn the lessons. Advanced schooling is hard, but stick with it, bro. In the long run, you almost certainly will not regret it. Starksy, if you come to the States, you will almost certainly get recognized. If I saw you, I would give you a hey, and shake your hand, no doubt, and maybe treat you to lunch or dinner, too. :-)

I returned a few days ago from the Valencia region, Spain. In the city of Valencia, there is a Ukrainian restaurant CASA UCRANIANA, where I went with my Spanish friend three times in just over two weeks. OMG what delicious dishes. We enjoyed several dishes and desserts, as in the Spanish way, and each time we ate way too much. Our favorite dish was Деруни з грибною пидливкой = Tortitas de patata con salsa de setas = Deruny with Mushroom Sauce. I hope to find the original recipe so I can make them at home, as well as Торт "Наполеон" = Tarta milhojas "Napoleón" = "Napoleon" Cake, an absolutely insane cake that melts in your mouth. I highly recommend it and I really hope one day I can eat them in Kyiv. The food was pure love❤
