StarStable can do better (why I love and hate the new Knabstruppers)

starstable recently released the new Knabstrupper horses and even though some of them are gorgeous, there are some issues I wanted to talk about. I'm not hating on sso, I'm simply stating my opinion and why I think they look unfinished.
Feel free to disagree with me, however please stay constructive and respect my opinion, just like I respect yours.

They should honestly be focusing on detailing and taking OUR suggestions rather than just up cycling horses and attempting to come out with a new horse every 1-2 months. We can wait for a new horse, that's an amazing thing, we love new horses. But we'd like the MORE if they had more effort.

I really hate the fact that they reused the same animations. Personally I think each horse should have a different feel/personality and reusing the animations completely destroys that. Idk why I felt the need to say this, but thx for reading xd

Stacy BigCloud I agree, they did put a bit of time in this horse and people should still show respect. The sso team probably has so many other great things planned for us this year and I’m happy they still update every Wednesday, no matter the amount of hate they get.

the thing is i think they recycled animations because they’re working on the updated american quarter models and they want to make them perfect. this became a common pattern now, where they release one clearly rushed breed and one amazing breed. it’s definitely a way to get more money, and damn it’s annoying! and the coats were clearly made by not-horse-people. because i bet the ones that know their stuff are working on the updated aqh or whatever horse breed is coming next. i’d say that the solution for this would be to get the people who worked on the knabstruppers straight to the quests team and just give us horses every two months instead.

Filippa I hope so. The coats don’t look as good as the older ones they have done like the Lusitano. The bay Lusitano has some dark purple in the neck making it have shading and look cooler. These coats just look really bland to me like it’s a single colour.

noodle poorsen no 3D artist, animator or graphic designer knows how to make horses and horses only. they can work on any textures or models or even animations across the entire game. quests are not just writing, scripting and programming.

Well I understand but like then don't release it untill it's not done fully. Or just take your time on what your working on and don't rush it. I'd rather buy a horse that has been worked on, then a horse that was made very rushed. I would wait more for a better horse, then a horse that comes out really fast with the same animations just under a diffrent name. 🤷‍♀️

I totally agree! SSO could have changed the animations just a little bit, like they did with the Trakehners and the JWB's. Besides, the Andalusian and the Lusitano are even more related than the Andalusian and the Knabstrupper, so if their animations would be the same, it would have made a lot more sense

Thank you! Finally somebody complained about the coats! Everybody was so caught up in the animations but I was more disturbed about the coats. Like what the hell is with the huge perfect circles?! I honestly have never seen a spotted horse in SSO of any breed that it’s spots weren’t a failure to realism. They’re always too big, unnatural looking, and either too bold or too faded. I really hope they put a white with blacks spots on the app. If they don’t I’m going to very confused cuz I mean when you think of Knabstrupper that’s what comes to mind. Hopefully it won’t look terrible like these guys but I don’t have high hopes.

I kinda feel like i’m the only one who hates the model. Their hooves are huge and their head looks so weird, like they where old models. In my opinion, the whole horse looks disgusting! Right, I’ve been waiting to get this out for a while and yeah.. So, when the spoilers were released, I was dying to see the horses! Suddenly, I realised the animation…That ruined me! I found out it was just the recycled Andalusian animations. They have not worked hard on the model nor the animations, they could of updated our characters, or fixed so many bugs.. but then they released this “knabstrupper” the re-used animation is scrappy. You could just get an Andalusian and say it’s a knabstrupper, people would believe you. The idle animations are different from the actual Andalusian breed itself. They could of worked harder on it, many people like higher quality horses. And I specified that the coats are quite gorgeous but to similar.. So, I just needed to get that out..

This isn't new at all. They always reuse animations, with a couple changes. For example, most horses are a mix of animations from different horses. This time they just reused them completely, save from the little dance they do. I actually love the coats, omg the one in FP as well...I'm in love lol

with the amazing standing animations, they could have worked a little harder on the gaits, even if they used the Andalusian gaits as a base. the STANDING animation is absolutely amazingggggg and they can release unique horse gaits, they've proven it before. I just wished they'd try a little harder, i'm grateful, really am as are others, but, just wish they would put a little more effort and not rush things. we are patient and if we know they are going to work hard on a horse and it's gonna turn out better then a reused gait walking spotted Andalusian with a different name, oh boi would we wait for it.

My favourite variation, and the most well known variation, of this breed is the black and white leopard spot. I was super disappointed when there was no sign of the iconic coat! I am crossing my fingers that they release an extra coat onto the app some day! Overall, I wasn’t too overly hyped about these horses, however the magic of new horses has really started to die down for me now, as there are new horses almost every other week. It takes away to the excitement for me now a little. Loved your points in this video, I would love to see more of the opinions on other updates!

Honestly I loved star stable when I was younger and I still watch some sso youtuber and it makes me feel like I want to play but if I even make myself log on I get sad and bored within 2 minutes. The game and team is not the same. It was all so exited before and also role play was a big thing for me, I loved doing wild horse role plays like realistic ones and it was fun. But now with the new chat filters sometime I say normal words and I get flagged. I enjoyed it when I was younger but I don’t see myself playing this game anymore.

I have a few opinions XD The first one that you were riding it was just perfect! I quite like the new knabstruppers. I completely get why people aren't crazy about the coats, it is true they are not realistic at all. Although some of the other horses are realistic, StarStable is not a realistic game. It has magic horses, zebra-horse hybrids, halloween horses ect. I think the coats work with the game's aesthetic. Just my opinion!

In side by side comparision, they are much heavier than the Andalusian, their back, rear end, legs, head and even little bit of the neck are different. Also they are not mirrored, which is big big bonus in my book. But I understand your argument about the animations and I can agree that they could have changed them a little. But overall, I do like them, some colours more than others, but opinions are allowed and I am not saying that it is wrong to dissagree

When sso said that it's not possible to recycle animations they were correct since you can't do that. Each model gets their own animation, for one to have the model switched to another breed would not work since the animation was not made for its shape and size. You have to remember that making a horse has many parts In the making, for example, the model, colors, animation, tack placement and many more. I think they just took alot of inspiration from the other breed.

I know I’m late to the party, but I’m gonna share my opinion here. One thing that really annoys me, and has annoyed me for years, is the defensive fans who don’t get why we complain and give criticism. “yOU sHlOuLd bE hApPy wE’Re gEtTing ANyThinG aT aLl” no, because we’re paying for this, it’s not free. That argument only works if the thing we’re getting is free. And calling constructive criticism “hateful” is only toxic. Criticism is needed to improve, and this way of viewing thing is really something the SSO community needs to work on. We ARE allowed to complain, we aren’t hateful, we’re unhappy.

I think the markings look better than in the spoiler video and since they are related, it is normal that they look really similar. I personally don't mind the similarity of these breeds and as I said, the markings look way better now. I am a little mad about the gaits, they could have at least mixed them. But I think the price is good for that they have two unique still-standing animations and no own gaits. I am not even surprised on the price like literally everyone else. SSO knows how much their horses are worth, they only make the tack too pricey. :)

Sometimes, I get it. But at this point, so many people are. Well not really hating but saying they could do way better, they are obviously working on so many other updates. Adding horses so they can get their players hyped. But it's getting me a little annoyed that so many people complain. Especially when they couldn't do it themselves, I absolutely love Anja, (No disrespect Btw) I think you shouldn't buy a horse you don't like, or either make your own game since you can do better. the way they tried this new model horse (with the same animation as the Andies) look different from the Andies (Andalusians) is their roman nose, and huge hooves. Just like Anja said, it's like the Jorvik pony and Chiconteague (butchered the name ik) but they look differeny cause the JP was chubby while the Chiconteagues have this slimmer and lighter looking body. just my own opinion.

You know why I think they don't listen to us? Because they delete all "HATE" comments when really its constructive criticism. They literally take it the wrong way, end up deleting it, and our ideas and point of views on the horse go right in the garbage. That just puts into perspective how much they actually "care" for their players.

Yea I buyed the one with black coat but when I took a better look to it in on my homestable I thought ''the ones on the butt are fine, but the leg is like the circles are too much perfect'' and we all know that the horse coats that have spots in real life aren't that perfect circles, they always attempt to come with an new horse within 1-2 months, honestly I feel more excited about opening new areas and soul rider new story quests than the realease of new horses. We want more story quests SSO, we can wait a little more for new breeds the game gets bored when you log on but have nothing to do than the soul riding (which it'll take for like 5 months to be finished and it's really so boring)

Unpopular opinion (I think) the andalusian gates are really ugly to me. Their back looks broken when the rear and they look sloppy (it’s mainly just they way their back looks). Idk that’s just what I think 🤷‍♀️

I feel like sso made a lot lf players disappointed and now there cant be just one good thing about sso anymore. Also its the andalusian model and its costs way less sooo

EARLY SQUADD SISSS Also this is my honest opinion about this new horse(JUST MY OPINION) First of all the andulusian is one of the worst horses i have honestly seen from the newer genereation,the coats are so plain and the rear and spanish walk look....odd. For me the knabstrupper is an adalusian 2.0 and i like them better. The coats aren't just body one color mane one color,its unique. The amount of detail sso put into the coats is AMAZING. The dapples, the marks the everything. Im not trying to be rude here, but people are way too demanding and unthankful these days, the horses we got are too good for a company so small. This game isn't supposed to be too realistic, and the coats are supposed to be appealing and cute and colorful cause most players, MOST, are children. And no this isn't at all a low effort horse, there was actual time put into this. And yes, sso needs to take some advice from their players, but we shouldn't be so toxic. Every video on sso i have seen these days have a dramatic thumbnail about how bad sso is. Like why pay money for something you dislike and are only here to critisize?Anyway the horses we are getting are BEAUTIFUL and i acttauly like the andy gates on this horse better. ANYWAY THATS JUST MY OPINION LOVE YO CHANNEL❤❤🤪 Edit: Jesus i said its my opinion why are people going off?!

I can do such a coat within an hour if I take my time and I'm not even a professional artist. I'm a hobby artist with friends that are professional artists and even they admitted, that they could do such a coat in 10 minutes! These horses are done so badly and lazy and it's a shame SSO is making people pay for such a bad product!

@@Sleipnir800 i would love too see you try then! ',:) Also as i said its my opinion, and your words are..well unbelivable and childish, also this is my opinion, you didn't have to come off so rudely. And as i said players like you and lots more people are so demanding and toxic these days. I remember when we were thankful for the goddamn old models, and now people want more,more,more.. i can see why sso doesn't listen to us now. Also i would love to see you try! It would be very interesting to see you prove your words!

They're professional artists, its their job to make horses, they are getting paid for it, so i don't understand when people are like "you should be grateful" "they're doing their best!" "You can't say something negative about what they do!!1 😭", like people have their opinions, if they don't like something they can say it,its not bad because they have spend their money on this game and star stable should hear these opinions too, it can't be all positivism.
