I love this movie! I was 17 when it came out in 1982. Of course I had a huge crush on Ross who was also 17 at the time. Brilliant cast and music! Tim Finn's "Body and Soul" is a timeless winner!

Fascinating you say that. I saw this on tv in the UK in the 80s when I was about 6. I always remembered the name of the film and a line about a letterbox. No melody, just the mention of a letterbox. Was surreal finding it on YT 30 years later

I have loved this Jewel In the Crown of Oz Cinema since first watching it in the 80s. Only one word will suffice to describe it: AWESOME DUDE!!! When I was on R & R in Oz I felt the awesome Ozzie essence of that movie there down by "The Rocks."

"I Want to Live in a House"! Just loved this movie when it came out, and believe it or not, my husband and I had this as one of our first dances at our nontraditional wedding reception in 1984. I remember bopping around to it (we had a guy spinning records, and this was probably right after "Moonlight in Vermont" in the rotation). Anyway it's great to see it here! Thanks so much!

With my own little box????? I have just spent HOURS trying to find what this film was, by this song alone. Trawling and trawling google like a numpty. All I remembered was the geeky new wave guy squating and singing about 'my own little box', from when I was little, TeeHee!!, and that it was some kind of drama/ romance musical Aussie film. Oh lordy, how wierd!! I will have to check this out again!! ;-?

The song was written by Bill Miller formerly from the Ferrets NOT Tim Finn. Jeezus get it right will you.

Bill was playing with a band called Bill Miller and the Great Blokes at the time and released this song as a single. They played the pub circuit and he told everyone to look out for this movie because it featured his song.
