Keep in mind the size of parts you want to do Harbor Freight cabinet great for smaller parts if you want to bigger the SBC 990 would be a great cabinet for larger projects

I'm planning on retiring in a few years and I've been thinking about getting set up to do vapor honing just to keep busy and make a little extra cash doing something that is relatively easy. I'm not as young as I used to be. I don't want to start a labor intensive business then not be physically capable of doing it.

I am exploring starting this business myself. The nearest to me is 150 miles away. I have the free use of a commercial unit located in the biggest commercial hub outside of our capital city. It is close to my house. I work shift work and have at least 3 if not 4 days off per week. I am confident I will have enough business to keep me busy for a couple of days a week which will be a big income boost for me.

I'm surprised no one commented on the hourly rate on the spread sheet. Do people really pay $80/hr for Vapor Blasting or is that a rough guess? What do you all think is a fair price to charge? What would you pay/have you paid to have it done?

That is about the going rate. Otherwise, you aren't making any money.

You really didn't discuss WHY people need to form an LLC!! In this day of "I'm going to sue your A** just because I can", you had better have an LLC formed and assets of the business listed! But you at least mentioned it, so kudos for that.

Hi Matt, do you think it's a good idea to make your own media using a bottle crushing home made machine?, can't find the glass bead or other media in Ecuador South America

$80 an hour shop rate, 1 hour minimum. Find 5 customers a week paying minimum, not 5 hours of work.
@jothain4 жыл бұрын
@@EBSCC but there lies that problem what I think he tried to tell. For simple job it's way too expensive to pay that 80 dollars. Like who would pay that price for ie. ultrasonic cleaner to clean carbs? I don't think anyone. To back this up, I own ultrasonic cleaner and I've done few carbs for people I know with deal "give me something and I'll clean them" I've generally been payed about 20-30 euros for 4 carbs. So no one for sure would pay something like 70 euros for set of carbs cleaning.

MatthewMCRepair I’m at the point where I’m choosing a compressor size. I’m thinking about the 5hp vertical Polar Air for $1620. If you were in my shoes, would you go the extra mile and get the Polar Air 7.5hp? I’m looking to use your plans, and blast parts average 12 inches long. (No more than estimated 10-12 mins at a time.
