Hello Lisa I am from India, I have a TEFL certificate... And I want to teach in Russia and other European countries... Do I really need to go for ielts... My whole academics has been done in English as medium.

Hello Kanaujia! Thanks for your question. If you've got a degree in an English-speaking country, you should be alright. These three tips are not a gold standard, though. However, it might help you to build trust and credibility. There're so many people who attempt to teach English knowing too little about teaching itself, not to mention their poor English skills. IELTS is also helpful when a non-native teacher doesn't know where they're stuck with their English.

Ah, so in this case I would definitely recommend you to take at least a TEFL course because knowing English doesn’t mean you can actually teach it. I studied English linguistics and had my diploma in English too, but I didn’t major in education, so I had to take TEFL to learn methodology. Then later I just confirmed my level with IELTS.

@@internationaltefltraining I have two TEFL certifications one from 'Teacher Record' which is accepted majorly in china and some parts of South East Asian countries and other from 'The Professional Development Institute' both were free so I took them. However I originally wanted to go for TEFL certification from ITTT only as it is one of the best I have learned... And I learned It would also provide me opportunities in European countries as it is accepted there...and also in Russia... But I didn't have enough money so I went for an affordable one ' World TESOL Academy' which I find to be very genuine and accepted.. quite well so when I would have some money... I would go for one from ITTT.... Please guide... What is right to do... And how should I proceed further.

@@Aashish947 Oh, sounds cool! You're quite experienced then. I think what you really have to do now is to get experience. Don't wait until you find a job somewhere in Russia or Europe as the situation is still pretty harsh all over the world due to the quarantine restrictions.
