I loved all the goodies you made for your journal today and the collage cards you made with your granddaughter. I have a 12 year old granddaughter who likes to craft with me as well… it is so fun! Three guess what I just did as I watched the first few minutes, then paused the video and.....YEP, ordered some Tim Holtz Christmas things thanks to you, my enabling precious friend!!!!!! Anyway, I'm excited to get them as i am getting excited about Christmas and making my first ever Christmas journal!!! The journal is working out so very wonderful!!! Katy's journaling cards turned out lovely!!!!! Loved them!!! When I was young I used to Love snow and winter weather, but now that I''m well, some people call my age elderly, so we'll go with that, I am glad in winter t least I live in the south. We do an occasional snow and once in a while a heavy ice storm, but, mostly, it's cold-ish but bearable!!! Now, in the summer I would give anything NOT to live in the south, whew, muggy and steaming hot!!! Glad you can go and say goodbye to your friend that passed, and not have to worry about it being on the weekend. My heartfelt condolences to you my dear, and her family and other friends, blessings to you all.

I have no idea what -4 even feels like, and I don’t want to know. I can’t even imagine going out to lunch in that kind of weather. It’s in the 50s right now and I’m sitting on the sofa with my coffee covered in my blanket, of course I haven’t turned the heat on yet. Katie is so talented for 11, I thought for sure she was one of the older ones. The idea of putting the envelope on the journal card was so good.

Oh my gosh, Gayle! A lot of the Tim Holtz is already sold out! Well, I'm popping those things up in other places, too. So, it will works out, though that stuff is selling fast. I see some jingle bell brads that look fun. I might get a few of those, as well as some of the metal pieces. Your Granddaughter did a great job with the ephemera. A lot like her Grandma with her artistic abilities! Happy birthday to your son, though it was a few days ago, I'm thinking. I was a young Mom, too. Well, this is a night I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open. Double kindergarten days and physical therapy. Plus, we were up a bit late due to needing to call California. Hope your tomorrow is a good one. Though, brrrrrrrrr....stay warm! Reminds me of living in Alaska! Kind of don't miss that part of it right now, though I do miss the first snows and hoar frosts. Another fantastic video! Learned a lot from you today. Crafting on the Fly...thats me! If I get to the basement, I sit down real quick and work on a collage, or ink edges, whatever I can do in a few minutes. Rarely have large blocks of time, but do what I can. I do cut things and search images while sitting with my mother that helps a lot too. Hugs!🦋👍

While walking to my neighborhood coffee shop, I saw a box of hardcover books by the trash. Oh Yeah, Junk journal time. Pickup the box and discovered a book of poetry (cover in poor conditions but the pages are in great "vintage tan colors"). Question how do you add the poems pages to the junk journal? I do not want to cut them up or fold them. The book is about 6" x 9". Sunday mornings in bed, my dog Auggie and I watch 2 hours of your show! Because of you, I signed up for a basic sewing class and bought a beginner sewing machine. At the class, I spread the word about you and Junk Journals on KZbin. Great Job!

If you don’t want to fold or cut the poems maybe you just glue them in a page. Or glue them on a file folder, put a hinge on it and have it flip up or down on your page. Maybe glue the poems to the inside and back covers? Just a couple ideas. Such a fun find!! Enjoy! ❤️

Isn’t that the finger you hit with the hammer when you were putting in an eyelet ? Hopefully you didn’t do any damage to it then. I love how you mix patterns and such. Putting Santa on a floral background looks great, but quite unexpected, even if they are Christmas related flowers. That is just part of what makes you so much fun to watch.

I saw someone today use an oval punch for the thumb hole on a side pocket and thought it made a nice slim notch. Might give that a try.

Hey, sing away! I sing all the time :-) OK I have a question for you. As you know I’m new to paper crafting, or maybe you don’t know but I’m new to paper crafting. I did buy some mod podge, but I don’t like the way it feels. It’s very Chalk like and dry- But then I’ve seen other people recently use it on their channel and it’s real thin and it comes across more glossy. Did I buy the wrong thing? Or should I be adding something to that to make it feel better on the page? And is there something better to use, that makes the pages feel amazing? Texture means A LOT to me!

I use Mod Podge brand in the matte finish. There are several different finishes available from Mod Podge. Hope that helps! ❤️

Gina Pearson Some people water down their Mod Podge, also it comes in so many different types now, glossy, matte, there’s even one that’s specifically for paper now although I have never used that. I prefer Liquitex or Golden matte medium instead of Mod Podge, of course it cost a lot more.

I find mod podge feels stiff when dry, sometimes the page can be sticky, try different consistency's by watering it down, also you can lightly sand it down once its dry. Your climate can make a difference too :-)

-4 degrees, wind chill, wow. We are having perfect weather here in southern PA. We are at 65 degrees today and no wind or humidity. Oh, another fact about Art Glitter Glue, they do not ship it in cold (below 32 )weather. It will freeze and not be good. Hope you have enough to get you through till next Spring. Ha, I hope I have enough too. Your book is turning out beautifully. Thanks for showing us the Tim Holtz Christmas goodies. I think I need some! LOL.

Gayle, when you print the digits for pages do you use presentation paper not copy paper?

I use both for different purposes. Copy paper makes a more muted color and of course is less expensive, so I use it a lot for collage papers. If I want the true color of the kit, like for pages, then I’ll use Epson presentation paper or matte photo paper. ❤️

Thanks! I picked up presentation paper but it’s speedy so I haven’t tried it yet. I have had issues with some of the digits I have printed so I know I need to know more about my printer and paper etc. it’s not the digits it’s my set up I am sure. Thanks for the help!
