I thoroughly enjoyed flying on DC 8’s. In the 70’s, I have been a few (21’s ?) that had the old ejectors behind the engines. I was always fascinated by the way they functioned (extend/retract) with the other flight control surfaces. I was fourth or fifth grade at the time.🤘

Back in 1999 I worked as a ramp agent for Integrated Airline Service at KIAH (Houston's big airport) and one of our clients was BAX Global. They used DC-8's most of the time (a few times they flew in with their 727-200's). At first the DC-8's had the older engines but gradually transitioned to the more "modern" turbofan engines. It was a real joy to be able to work on and handle these beautiful airplanes! Also over the years I flew on Delta Airlines DC-8's as well. No need to describe the pleasure in having the chance to fly on it!

The poor thing looks lonely and unloved. Give it some livery, some fuel and a destination; it'll brighten up. My first commercial flight was in the DC8 from Toronto to Ottawa, about 1973.

@@patrickvereecke6654 What a great catch. Last DC 8 63 I saw was an Emery DC 8 cargo airplane Departing San Diego Lindberg international airport. Decades ago. Remember Emery? It was a stretched DC 8.

@@747heavyboeing3 indeed , we had several Emery 8's , both with CFM and JT3D engines , i recorded a few during 1999 in sunny as well as horrible challenging rain conditions , always ready when it was possible , glorious times , apron at the time full of classic freighter jets , splendid memories !
