Great point as always. To read the cards you have to actually look at the picture and see what sense it makes in context of the question. Otherwise you might as well be using index cards with fixed definitions on them. The cards have a reasonable range of meanings, and it is the readers job to select the meaning that makes sense.

Do you interpret them differently according to the images regardless of the so- called ingrained meanings. I.e Some decks are quite sinister, others uplifting yet others quite diverse and difficult to relate to.

Thats true..being creatively open to the cards is key..also being able to simultaneously keep your references handy, while keeping open to something new.. ..good to write down the cards for looking back later. Also, you can use the cards strictly thru reference, or choose openess. Will i find somebody: 4 of cups (in my ref) would be not finding satisfying suitors..but without ref could be the park, at a bar after hours, someone you talk to now and again. Good topic! Thanks👍

Hello i've been following you for many months now and i've heard once that you were talking about the song Ceremony by New order and you told thay it's the greatest song arguably in the world. When i listen to this song i understand words but i dont understand the meaning of the song. Can you make some lesson about what this song means? For your next video, why not ask a question and then interpret the answer as if you received the Mona Lisa as the card. Then, how would the answer be different if you received Grant Wood’s American Gothic? Any different if you pulled Van Gough’s Wheat Field or Starry Night?
