In the beginning of your video I notice that your primary wire was nor tight and most likely not getting a good connection which could have been your problem all along, but otherwise it was a very good video and well explained and given me the confidence to change the bad starter on my 2series 3800. I actually didn't have a problem with the starter. It was pre loosened for the video. Notice the same starter went back on. Just making a video. Thanks for the compliment.

While disconnecting the battery, I found about an inch of water at the bottom of the battery compartment. Also, the carpet of the floor in front of the battery compartment is soaked. Do you have an idea where this leak could be coming from?

This is what I needed! Will this process work the same for my 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP 3.8L v6? My solenoid spins while cranking the engine, so I'm thinking the starter is bad. I just replaced the cam and crank angle sensor last night and trying to get the car started to see if I have any more codes. Thanks for the video man!

There's a bolt in the engine fuse box where the red tab is to jump start de car, you car undue that if you can't get back seat off

So wouldn't it be easier to put the wires on the starter before bolting it back on ?

I replaced my starter and it didn't have Shim's but the new one did and it Start's up loud should I take the Shim's off?

You may need to check a manual on that.

Why change it.

Because they fail to operate correctly and when they do due to a failure inside the starter, you replace I it.
