it was originally from Haiti when they put multiple short pony tails like this you see in the video and it became a hairstyle in Florida in da 2000s I believed Kodak started poppin in 2015 & in 2016 he was rocking the original wicks (example pattern your hair and add rubber bands) but now in days we have crochet needles to help it lock better.
