Already in love with the entrance. As someone said in the comments already you should do flamingos as the first animal. If I remember correctly, you wanted to do more rivers through the zoo. Perhaps try and implement the flamingo habit into it as it flows through the zoo. Just a thought or idea to perhaps help inspire you. I built an estuary in my zoo, which the flamingo habitat crosses through. The guests get a nice view of the sea too when they enter the walk-in building, and can watch the flamingos "migrate" to their shelter on the opposite shore. It lights up with pink lights at night. Seeing her river habitats would be good inspiration for me!

You should take a look at Antwerp Zoo. It’s in the middle of the city right next to the central station. It’s still very old but got more modernised over time. The whole zoo is walled of, maybe for your inspiration for the wall

I would definitely recommend Copenhagen Zoo. A zoo in the middle of the city. It was founded in 1859, so there's buildings in it there are older and really beautiful. And the iconic tower 😊

This is so amazing! I love the entrance and i recognized it is the entrance of leipzig. I was there in 2017 and it is one of the greatest Zoos i've ever been in germany. I love your builds! I thought of a workaround for not using staff paths while also disallowing guests: only staff can go through habitat gates. So you could have a walk-in habitat in front of your staff area, with the habitat gate facing the staff area, and the guest gate facing the rest of the zoo. Though I'm not sure if staff other than zookeepers and vets can go through the habitat gate, I've only tested their ability to go through guest gates. Incredible build here, it looks so lifelike! I'm seriously excited to see the rest of the zoo as it develops.

That entrance is impressive! First animal thoughts: my red pandas seem to breed like crazy, so I always have extra in my animal storage--and they are most always the first I put in zoos. They do well, despite being shy, perhaps because I have lots of climbing hidey-holes and most always put a tall hill (with a viewpoint) at the back of their habitats so that they have plenty of vertical space. And throw in lots of bracken and ferns. ;) Guests love them because they're so darned cute. That and an few exhibits close to the entrance will get a zoo started quite well.

I really like the idea that this one can become an actual Zoo. Not that i would complain about the possebility to build a large, humanly and well themed wildlife parks this game offers But it gets quiet surreal when the most KZbinrs building everything in favor of style and 100% wellfare for everyone and forget about efficiency. Welcome back! I think a majority of the player base feels your pain about franchise mode. You just do you and what makes you happy! I love watching all the creative things you do. The "Apenhuis" in Artis has undergone a lot of transformations over the decades, but a lot of elements of the structure have been maintained. If we could only get netting and aviaries, that would make a wonderful inspiration I think.

Such an amazing start, can already see your level of detail increasing. As a suggestion, using the staff buildings as rooms within a bigger building can be a good way of being more creative. Things like an upstairs staffroom near exhibits or a large research centre. Love your videos!

I love you used the Zoo Leipzig as an inspiration. I loved being there. If you are interested you should definitely check out the Godwanaland in the same zoo. It's a huge indoor habitat for a lot of tropical animals that you can see from a boat ride.

I love Leipzig Zoo. If you ever get the chance, you should definitely visit. I'm sure you'll find a lot of inspiration there. Leipzig Zoo has an amazing mix of classical architecture and state-of-the-art modern animal enclosures. You'll love Gondanaland, which is basically a huge dome with different enclosures and a boat ride inside of it - perfect for a recreation in PZ! There's also a beautifully themed African zone, some of the best great ape enclosures in Europe (all 4 kinds!), the only Chinese pangolins outside of Asia, and of course an elephant enclosure with underwater viewing!! If you ever plan on a zootrip outside of the Netherlands... consider Leipzig! (I'd recommend Prague as well!) Keep up the good work!

I was also surprised about how few animals we really have. Sure there is a high number of total animals but we also have a variety of apes for example to pump those numbers up. In my first zoo I wanted to try and rebuild An Emperors Groove but I noticed that they don't have any lamas, which honestly is the most important animal in that movie. So much for that. I was kind of disappointed because even tho the animations are beautiful, I just feel like we had way more animals in Zoo Tycoon.

Zoo Leipzig is lovely, soooo many nice memories connected to this zoo. You may want to pay it a visit ^^ You can draw some inspiration from the enclosures of Leipzig Zoo as well the have some amazing great ones like "Gondwana Land" where you have tropical climate inside and some enclosures while some monkeys can roam nearly free.

I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and we used to have a zoo in the middle of the city wich had been opened in the nineteenth century, so it had a lot of enclosures totally harmful for the animals, most of them were small and full of concrete, they totally lack of nature. However, due to the date it was built, it has a lot of awesome buildings from Victorian times you could look to for inspiration. Mainly, I love the elephant's shelter the zoo had. It was closed in 2016 and since that, a lot of the animals have been moved into a sanctuary or into a better place to live. Oh, regarding the first habitat, it had a big lake next to the main path and at the end of the lake there were flamingos

I grew up going to the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens and they recently put in a super cool space for tigers where they have a walkway over the guest walkway (it's hard to describe but I promise its cool) which I can assume is almost impossible to recreate in Planet Zoo, but either way I just think its interesting and wanted to share with everyone 😂 We also have a butterfly garden and I think that would be a super cool addition to the game if they wanted to include that in some DLC
