I'm soaking all these videos up. I've got 3-5 acres and so far I have 4 garden beds and I'm getting chickens 😂 Slow but steady wins the race. This is encouraging.

Awesome, we just moved from a property that was only two acres. Just get a little done each day and before you know it you'll have accomplished a ton.

Awesome! Welcome and thanks for the kind words. I feel like I'm still new to the whole filming and editing thing. What sort of animals do you have?
@selebogokhune9 ай бұрын
Really love the wooded surrounding, covering the property, it provides a cosy feeling of privacy.

We really lucked out with this property. There are a few other houses tucked away back here. It's really nice.

Best of luck sir. I'm from Croatia and 2 weeks ago I moved in on the homestead my brother and I bought. Also around 10 acres. We didn't wanted to go grassroot route more of bought existing one from older couple who retired. We just want to implement animals. Also plan to document the journey on seperate channel, but need to get internet access.
@valkyriehomestead9 ай бұрын
That's awesome. Congrats! What animals are you looking to raise?

@@valkyriehomestead for start laying hens about 30. Mobile coop and electric net. We would take 2-3 lambs and keep them as mowers and feed them up for about 8 months just to control grass better around our trees together with chicks. On 3 acres that we have just around the house we have around 150 hazelnuts, around 60 walnuts, 15 peaches, 10 apples, some pears plumbs. They are all old heritage varieties some of them huge +20 m trees. Have blackberries & raspberries on the trellis and some other stuff i probably forgot. Now on the opposite side some 200 m distance, we got forest/pasture in the hills we plan to put scottish highland cows there. And all around us are chestnut forests so we can also forage for those for free. Pretty nice place. Also alot of wild pigs for hunting. Cheers😃

That sounds awesome. So many trees!

I will be along for the ride hope to see more from you. me and my wife made the decision to move into homesteading and started here in nyc before we make the move to NC as well. we don't have the space for animals at the moment but i make use of every inch of space I have for my garden and greenhouses.

That's awesome, my wife and I just started with a garden back in Cali.

@@valkyriehomestead that's awesome so it seems we are on a similar path and we are just a few years behind on our end.

Nooice! 😎 STOC We are on a similar journey which began in 2021. So far we cleared and fenced a pasture for the pony, built a lean to from raw lumber, a kunekune piggy pallet pallace, 2 chicken coops, a brooder, and so much more. Good luck and best wishes! 😎

@@valkyriehomestead Thank you kindly 😁 I have to go binge watch your channel, till then , are your kunes registered? They look fantastic 😍
@valkyriehomestead9 ай бұрын
The kunes are not registered. We kind of fell into that breed and originally planned on putting them into our freezers. Now that we have a boar those plans have changed. Out IPP are registered though.

@@valkyriehomestead Same here, kinda fell into them and am looking forward to filling the freezers too 😎

My family and I live in NC in Cary. We are building a homestead in Michigan. I wish we were able to stay in NC but we were able to get 100 acres of land. I’m starting a baby KZbin channel for the 2 people that might watch me! 🤣❤️
@valkyriehomestead9 ай бұрын
Good luck in Michigan! 100 acres is awesome. The winters up there are a bit brutal though, but when we were looking for a bigger piece of land a few popped up in Wisconsin.

What breed is the black thick layers chickens at 3:10? They are so pretty and healthy looking are they good egg layers ?
@valkyriehomestead8 ай бұрын
They are Black Cochin chickens. They lay a brown egg and they are super fluffy, they even have feathered feet. I could watch the all day, they are so funny running around.

We are sitting on about 10 acres. 7 of them are pasture/orchard/house and then 3 are wooded.
