Starting a Homestead Tour | What We Have Done on Our .5 Acre Backyard Homestead

There are so many benefits to having land for your animals to spread out on and browse the land like they were created. Homesteading can still be done on a small scale. We are currently trying to make .5 acres work with dairy goats, backyard chickens, bunnies, a green house and a garden.

I just found your channel! What a gorgeous place you have!! I'd love to get goats at some point. Do you find that they are quite destructive with the garden?

Aww yay! So glad you found us and wow, what a compliment. The goats have gotten out of our backyard. I hesitate saying this next part though lol: BUT they have never gotten in the backyard garden bordering their run! 🤷‍♀️ i have found that the best fencing is the panel fencing with T post bc its too flimsy to climb up and over for our bigger goats yet they are sturdy enough to stay in place creating a perimeter.
