I knew about pulling up the bobbin thread to start but not the technique for finishing. Thank you for explaining that!

Same for me. I've quilted for literally decades and taken machine quilting classes as well as watched/read about different ways to end but never this one. I usually go searching under the quilt to cut the bobbin thread - difficult and can't always get a cut that doesn't leave a tail. Will surely try this trick.

I’ve never seen anyone tie off a quilt like that before. Thank you for that! I’ll feel more comfortable now when I know I’ve tied off my quilting either by plan or if something happens.

I have tried burying my threads, but I hate it. It is really great to see that you do not. I never knew how to really bring up my thread to finish so your info was very helpful. Thank you.

So helpful to this [65 yr old] beginner! I love piecing and have made 60+ quilts, but have only *finished about 12 -- the rest are UFOs! You're giving me courage. Thank you, Angela.

Thank you! Just starting to machine quilt my very first quilt after lots of practice pieces and I haven’t found this information in other machine quilting videos - so appreciate this! ❤

Thanks for the tip with thread breakage. I was going back and pulling threads up until I could knot and bury and then start where I left off. This will be a big time saver. 😁

The tip about using FrayCheck or fabric glue was just what I needed to hear as my threads on the back are not always the neatest. Love your videos, I learn so much. 😊

Thankyou Angela for the validation I’ve been doing it right but I like your idea of getting the bobbin thread back to the top in the stop. I think I’ll give this a go.😊

I’ve been ending by leaving tails and then pulling the top thread to bring up the bobbin thread, and then burying. I’ll try your ending method, and thanks for this! My current quilt is with different thread colors top and bobbin, so I’m being careful and burying threads.

The first time I made a quilt I watched a ton of videos and the majority of them showed to do this the same way. A couple showed how to tie off the threads and bury them. I decided to try it the way you showed and trimmed off the threads. The thread came unstitched. The next time I made a quilt I met in the middle - did it the way you said except left the threads long and buried them. Now I don't have a problem with the stitching coming undone and I've made probably close to 40 quilts since then. I've often wondered if different sewing machines don't do the stitching just differently enough to cause the stitches coming loose problem.

Version of Hell!!! I had to LOL at that one. I was planning to try that & then saw on another of your videos where you just clipped the threads & decided to check other videos. So I will be clipping! Thank goodness!
