Starting and Moving 1947 Galion 102 Road Grader

My Dad used to have a Farmall Super W9 diesel with the same sit up. I always enjoyed watching him start it.

We used to have this identical grader to do our 6.5 mile road to my familys lake/hunting camp. Hard wworking grader but we blew head gaskets quite a bit, may have had a warped head i cant remember now. Awesome video!

I operated an International TD6 bulldozer with this type of engine. I've seen International WD series of tractors with this engine also. I think there was a 6 cylinder engine also. Thanks for sharing this start up.

The spark plug and gas intake are in the chamber behind the start valve. . Have seen one of those old galions with the 6 cylinder version of that engine. An old farmer around here would always switch his back and let it run on gas for a minute or so before he shut it down. Claimed it made it easier to start next time, especially when using the hand crank.
