As a former D1 college player, I am pumped to see a solid tennis game getting a little attention!! Only recommendation would be to keep it cross court, once you get a short ball play it down the line and follow it into the net and finish it with a volley. Great video, look forward to seeing more!

Great video, thank you! Fwiw It’s super important in tennis to aim deep(push up on the joystick while aiming), otherwise the opponent just tees-off on your shots and force you on the defensive. Hitting deep will also make your winner attempts much more successful.

I haven't had a chance to play this just yet but it looks like it plays very similar to Top Spin 4. So a little tip for conserving your stamina is to use control shots, which is done by tapping the button at the right time instead of holding. Most of your shots are attempts at power shots that aren't fully charged up (you'll know they're at max power when the red circle appears). If there's just a white ring that doesn't make its way around 360 degrees, it won't come off as a proper power shot, and therefore you expend stamina without the benefits of a powerful stroke. You pretty much want every single shot you make to be either a control shot to dictate the play, or a power shot to put your opponent under pressure and win the point.

When the Sega Dreamcast released back in the days I loved playing Virtua Tennis 2 (arcade like controls, easy to learn, hard to master against good players). Recently I bought AO Tennis 2 on the PS5 to get back into sports/tennis games. It feels more like a mixed arcade/simulation compared to Virtua Tennis 2 and I still need to get the hang of it. Now I'm wondering if I should buy Top Spin 2K25 and what makes it the different (better?) game compared to AO Tennis 2 (if that's the case)? Similarities/differences?

The movement in topspin games generally feel more fluid than AO tennis and some of the recent tennis games. The movement in AO tennis specifically felt in consistent and didnt always do what you intended. Virtua Tennis is easier to pickup and play and has less realism than TopSpin, but both are quality games with good gameplay mechanics

TS2k25 is very similar to TS4. In TS4, it has many variety of shots, regardless they are top spin, flat, or sliced and I am presuming TS2k25 do the same. Like for example, try to play TS4 using top spin stroke only, if you will look closely how the character hit its forehand, you will noticed the character is using different variations depending on position of the of the character to the ball, the intentioned ball direction, and how hard the stroke was. Its not a one top spin stroke style for every situation. Flat and sliced strokes in Backhand also has variations. Other tennis games out there are very limited in this scenario. Try to examine their strokes in videos. This makes TS strokes animation very realistic regardless they are signature strokes of real pros. This is why I love watching the characters playing in TS2k25 videos, its like watching real tennis game on TV.

try changing your tactics a bit. If the ball lands in the service box move up to it, defend with slice so the ball doesn't sit up for them and try to wrong foot them (don't always just hit where the space is). Also use angles from the back i.e. get the ball wider not just deep

Your issue is you're trying to win every shot, you should try wrong footing them a couple times by hitting it 1 way letting them run back to centre and then hitting it back the same way then they will get further away stumbling and then you go for the win hitting it to the other side

You’re winning the points where you play on the baseline, the point you loose is when you’re standing too far forwards in between the service box and baseline which is called “no man’s land” because you don’t want to be stood there
