Id move both the washer and dryer to the area where you are pulling out the cabinets. Then on the wall where there are now you could put a table with shelves and area for hanging clothes. You would have so much room.

Have you considered moving the dryer to the other wall beside of where the washer is going? Then you would have the whole other side (where they are now) open, but the washer & dryer will not stick out.

This was my thought, too. Moving the dryer is not that big of a thing you just need a 220 plug and a place to vent.

Just curious why you don't move the dryer over to that wall as well? And remove the wall between this room & the door? Or maybe its load bearing? I'm sure you have a reason, just curious. We just did a beadboard wall in our kitchen, i love it. I know its gonna be great! 🙂 So happy for you

Maybe put the washer and dryer on that wall where the cabinets were. Then put a nice folding table at a nice height for folding clothes and cabinets above on the opposite wall and cabinets above the washer and dryer if they were together on that other wall. Also cut the wall back to where the front of the cabinets were for a bigger entry into the laundry room. ❄️

My thought was get a stackable washer dryer. Move them to the opposite side where you ripped out the pantry. Then next to the stackable washer/dryer you could build a closet to store your vacuum, mops, wet/dry vac etc in that closet.

You're going to love the washer and dryer on the opposite wall. If you did decide you wanted a lower cupboard or two where they are now, they make a counter called a banjo style which means it gets narrow on one end so it wouldn't obstruct coming into the room. I think bottom bead board and a fun wallpaper would look pretty. I'm very happy you're doing this for yourself. Laundry is daunting and endless at least have a pretty room! 😂

If you’re putting your washer and dryer on an outside wall, there’s a chance that your pipes may freeze in the winter. Where you have it now is on an inside wall and the pipes can stay warm.

We have been in a deep freeze for about 2 weeks! our driveway and my mother in laws is just a sheet of ice! yesterday and today we finally got into the 40's and it is starting to thaw! yea! but here comes the mud!!! looking forward to what you decide for the laundry area! what fun! thanks for sharing! xoxo

How exciting! My washer and dryer is in the basement and will stay that way because we plan to move south in the future. Not soon but not what we want to do lol I say the basement trips is my extra exercise lol Our daughters room has a walk-in closet and then two small closets inside and those have OLD wallpaper and she didn’t want it taken out and even those she no longer lives with us she says we can’t take it out. It’ll stay til we sale. I love longhorns steak house and the closest is two hours away. The cheesy chicken something is so good. Excited to see more!! ❤

That’s a great idea but is a lot more complicated and expensive to move or extend the plumbing and dryer vent.

If it is possible it would open it up more if you moved both the washer and dryer to the opposite wall and remove the wall they are on now. Then it would all be open including the small backdoor area. I don't know if that wall is load bearing? but moving the dryer vent should be easy enough.

Just wondering if you will have enough room with your washer across from the dryer to open the door to the dryer and change out things from washer to dryer. Your renovated laundry room is going to be fabulous. Glad you are thinking of bead-board for the wall behind the washer. I think it is a better choice & more functional than wallpaper plus it will always look neat & tidy & can be painted if need be. I am just like Marion when it comes to milk. My poor husband has to smell the milk for me because I can’t stand the smell of sour milk. I wish milk was sold in pints. Sometimes a quart is just to much to finish before it goes sour.

Very interested to hear how this project goes because we were told we need to replace all the pipes in our home and it seems like such a big undertaking so it'll be nice to get a better idea of how you guys move things around and what space they leave open. We don't have a basement

When Covid hit, we kind of did the same thing so we had a pantry with the washer in the dryer, but it was making it too narrow to get in so we move the washer in the dryer added plumbing to the back restroom, which is a large restroom so we have the washer in the dryer in the restroom with a couple of like the cabinet so it was so the washer and dryer went into a cabinet and we just kept the top shelves Added another shelf and then it’s in the restroom and the hallway where the washing dryer used to be is now like a walk-through pantry cause it used to walk-through it but I’m actually going to adjust the shelves. I was just looking at it yesterday. I need to add a larger shelf in there so I’ll be working on that but I I get it you need space to get through so we did that and we put it in the back And it’s a joint that room is a joint to another bedroom so I still have to go through the bedroom to get to that wash area, but it’s fine. We’re empty nesters so it’s good.

We had all the incoming pipes and outgoing pipes replaced under the house. It was so nice to have it over with and done. We put up beadboard in the bathroom, big mistake! Not good in areas that have water. Get something that’s waterproof around the washing machine area.
