I love Ab, didn't play it for a year or so after it was released because a lot of Ark KZbinrs were slating it. Ended up playing because I wanted a Rockdrake n ended up loving it

There is a part of me that wishes we could tame a deathworm. And an other part of we says: and where on ark would we park that thing? Just throwing in some last minute scorched earth thoughts.

Here’s a tip for people transferring to ab. If you can, craft a tek transmitter and put it in the obelisk before transferring- of course it’s too late for Phlinger. But then in late game abb you only need to make one run to get your stuff from the ob, and that’s the run in which you grab the transmitter. Then you can place it in your base and use it to acess transferred items

Also, there’s a list online of dinos you can transfer to aberration in Cryopods. I took some on my last play through, which made things a bit easier to handle.

Yay! Aberration is always one of my favorite parts of Soloing the Ark. I love watching you work your way up from scratch to prepare for a mad dash to the surface. My husband and I play on a dedicated server, but when we start Aberration, we’re going to play it this way because it looks like so much fun.

Finally my favorite official map. Now I wish that Phinger Phoo would rebuild that wonderfull house from S5E139 genesis base on ocean platform near the waterfall in Blue Zone. I was one of my favorite bases in previous season. PS. From time to time Crabs and Sarco would pay him a visit.

Here's some ab advice for comment readers: Stegos are great mounts on AB (and Gen 1 bog). Their slow attack makes taking care of ravagers trivial, as you can keep them at bay and prevent them from bleeding you. A high melee stego = no fear traveling the green and blue zones.

I have a love/hate relationship with Aberration. I always forget about the mushrooms that can kill ya and usually have to make a few death runs before I remember to wear protective gear. heh

With ASA kinda at a standstill i decided to play Aberration for the first time. Yes i spawned at Portal but my goal was to grab a horse. But first thing i do, on a map I've never been to, is cycle through all the spawn points a couple times. It helps unlock the mini map and gives a samplet bit of what the map is like. Best time to do it is at the start cause you don't have anything to lose yet. Lol.

I love ab. And I like how its kinda hard to access terminals/obelisk so you're forced to start off with nothing and not just get a bunch of stuff from your obelisk.

Here is a challenge for you. A way to possibly nuzlock this game. Start a new player and the only way you can craft something is if you find a blueprint for it. The only engram you are allowed to learn is Hatchet, campfire and spear. Discuss that challenge.

I was so not prepared for Ab when I tried it earlier in the year. Did not understand enough about the game play or mechanics. The map kicked my but plenty so I made it my goal just to get back to the island took me 2 weeks solid. Now in saying that the map is possibly the best of all.

Aberration isn’t my favorite, but it has my favorite things. Rock drakes and the three best rewards from the boss fight. Full tech suit, sleeping pod, and most importantly, the Rock Drake Tech Saddle. Also one of my favoritest shoulder pets. Featherlights. Top three shoulder pets are Featherlight, Ferox, and Otter. Hard to rank them because they are more mission oriented than not.

ah.. aberration.. beautiful map, fairly easy resource gathering... you just wait for a quake and search the ground! I... dislike everything else about the map. ankys are a pain to get early on because they're all in the blue zone, but once you've got a pack of carnos it's not too bad getting to them. My problem is I tend to lose everything but the anky on the way back up. I guess the lesson here is a good anky can be kinda OP. and then of course there's just no such thing as "safe" on the map until you've gotten yourself a rock drake which is basically the end game. I do like to setup camp outside the glowtail cave though.. lots of fish and otters and is the closest thing to safe as you're gonna get after you clear the crabs from that area. it's just a very long ways away from everything else you need. I miss having flyers whenever i'm on this map. it's just so verticle it's hard to cope with anything that isn't a thylacoleo(which are also not on this map).

Thats my only issue I have with ab is that if you go to it can be hard to get off that map without dying and losing all your stuff. I don't recommend taking a break from game while on that map, and finding out you lost all your tames when you get back in game. And if you play on xbox especially on weekends with server over loads the map can lag big time. I still think they were over ambitious when they made the map lol.

I'm thinking of doing a full singleplayer run of all the maps. at least all the official ones. at some point Id like a main base where I've collected dinos from every map but I can't figure out if its possible to transfer dinos off of aberration. if I wanna bring some ravagers or rock drakes over to the island from aberration how would I do that?

so upon further research while listening to you play I've found out I can upload aberration creatures from the obelisk on the surface. just need to do it at night with a strong tame to clear the area of reapers before uploading anything.

So weirdly enough it did let me bring my wyvern, perfect 150 thicc thylo ,my tek canteen from the island, and some rpgs and narcotics basic stuff but immensely helpful early game and my dyed assorted level desert cloth ughhh yeah no u can't use those dinos in there and after I walked around a bit I had to leave the game logged off to later spawn back in the same spot but completely bare no inventory gone...Yeah I'm sad boi for that do any other maps jack your stuff like that?

Something I hate is when solo players follow the unwritten rule of not using gamma. Nothing personal, I just watch you the most, all solo KZbinrs follow it because some pvp people in the comments will complain. The gamma thing is cheating if you are doing pvp because the game was made that way to add difficulty to to pvp, but for solo players, how dark it gets at night (with a moon in the sky) is not realistic. It really sucks watching a video that has my screen 80% black and I can't see anything. When placing a forge, I want to be able to look off in the distance while you take 5 -10 secs thinking about where to place a forge but I can't even see the wall behind the forge. Excusing singleplayer aspects, just being a content creator for people learning itself is enough of a reason to raise and lower it as it gets dark, being that this is content, you are talking to a mic and not really that immersed. No content involved, yea don't use gamma, to each its own. At the same time this is abb and the one map that I can maybe agree with way less night gamma (no moon) but I would still use some, human eyes adjust to the night and in singleplayer I don't understand why that aspect can't be utilized. Sorry not sorry, just had to get that off my chest, great video otherwise.

Phlinger does use gamma sometimes, usually in caves. Have you checked the brightness of your own screen? I’m not having any trouble seeing anything in this video.
