I came out of the broom cupboard 3 summers ago to my birth family. I knew they would push me out of the family. I was tired of not having freedom in my life and not being able to actually live. They disowned me. I moved away and can finally live freely. Never been happier. Learning so much. Have more peace that I have ever had in my life. Everyday is another wonderful day for me to learn, love and grow.

Ohhh I so relate to transitioning from one point in your practice to a new space, both physically and spiritually speaking. I had almost the opposite experience you did! I moved from a rural, coastal village in the middle of nowhere to a tiny apartment in the very centre of a city that didn't even have a garden or any outdoor space at all. My practice went through a bit of a crisis! I was so used to spending my days wandering the coastal paths, the coves and beaches, the woods and the riverside. Suddenly I was restricted in where I could go (and not be disturbed) outdoors. And for the longest time I felt "stuck" and wasn't sure how to approach magic within such an urban environment. Now, I'm used to it. But I'm looking to move back home soon, and I know it'll be a transition once again. As you say, sometimes it's good to take inventory of what's what...and maybe even "return to basics", go back to the ABC's, the 101's, to really figure out where you've been, who you've become, and where you plan to go next. It's scary but exciting to be in this place! Thank you for sharing it with us!

I did a very similar altar overhaul last year and it was so refreshing. I had been using a desk by a window but the large space was just acting as a flat surface for other stuff to collect on. So I swapped it out with a small 3-cube bookcase with a 12x12" top and going shelves and boxes on the wall above for my paraphernalia. It's a much more appropriate space for my personal practice as I basically work in meditation, candle magic, and instant offerings. I'm still working on using up my absolutely insane candle collection and once that's done I can properly organize the shelves and boxes for storage and display.

When I moved from Oregon to Florida, my practice shifted *dramatically* - I completely relate to everything about changing practices and starting over. I lived for three years in Florida and now I live in Maine, a whole new place with new spirits, new seasons, and new practices! I've also done that exercise from Thorn's book - it is a phenomenal book with great exercises and prompts. I'm so glad to hear you're doing well and enjoying life in Oregon!

I did an altar change recently and it was a HUGE positive shift! I struggled with my altar for years, trying to figure out what felt best on it. I realized that I was trying to make my altar according to some of the "conventional" recommendations, like Elemental representations, which turned out to not have a lot of meaning for me personally. I sat back and thought about what is truly meaningful to me, what I actually work with on a regular basis. I work with Divination and Crystals primarily, so that's the theme my altar took on. I've got my Charm Casting set in a beautiful bowl I had sitting around for years. A matching plate ended up being used for holding my Dice Divination sets. I've got some Crystals and a space to set up a Crystal grid. A small shrine to the Goddess Epona. Some meaningful larger Crystals. Picture frames on the wall above with the Reiki precepts and a seasonal picture I enjoy that I change out as the Wheel turns. A few other things also. I realized that those are the things that are meaningful to me and I work with regularly, and thus "should" be on my altar. Now I adore looking at my altar and working with it.

I have been practicing for about 12 years now and yeah my way of practicing has changed a lot just as I have grown. I used to try and line up everything perfectly time wise but now I feel more connected to what I’m doing and feel more powerful even with spur of the moment rituals. The type of spells I do has also drastically changed and I now celebrate the holidays more and feel more warmth in my work. It’s more about letting my correspondences help me than focusing on timing ❤

Hi, I wanna thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences with witchcraft over here. I discovered your channel just recently, and I'm learning so much from you. I live in northeast Brazil, and I have always lived in a crisis with the place where I live, but you inspired me to rethink all of that, to reshape my entire practice and to connect with the energies of this place. I am now creating (which is something very dear to me) my own path focused entirely on the nature around me. I'm creating my own wheel of the year and shaping all the aesthics and symbols os my practice to be in tune with the real world around me. It gives me freedom, enhances my intuition and my creativity, and I am very, very thankful for the gods for having met you here. Best wishes and energies for you! ❤

Welcome to Oregon! So glad your video came into my feed. Love hearing about your practice and how it’s shifting as you start over with tools and get to know the local spirits. (I need to put attend a rhodie festival on my list for next year!) I think the practice of clearing my altar and asking the Why as I put things back is something I need to do. For your future herb garden: rosemary grows SO incredibly well at the coast! It will be fun to see what else you discover, thank you for sharing!

This video couldn’t have showed up at a better time for me. I remember following you and Leah and other witchy content creators around the time of the pandemic, and it’s so beautiful to watch everyone’s practice grow and change. I plan to move from the PNW to the east coast in about a year, and similarly, we are taking only the essentials. I was reflecting on these exact sentiments and I took everything I’ve collected over the years off my altar and put back only the things I actually use and connect with. It was shocking how many things i had that didn’t reflect my current practice anymore. Enjoying this last year in the beautiful pnw and not taking a second for granted 🫶🌟

1. The general, 'masculine' cosmos and the special, 'feminine' Earth (Gen 1:1); 2. The Earth, as its own general subject, and its special kind of material wealth: its abiding maximal abundance of open liquid water (v. 2); 3. That water, in general, and its cycling (the water cycle, vs. 3-10); 4. The water cycle, in general, and its beneficiaries: biological life (vs. 11-12); 5. Biological life, in general, and its special category, animal biology (vs. 20-25); 6. Animals, in general, and its special category, humans (vs. 26-29); 7. The general human and the special...woman (Genesis 2:7-25). There are ONLY FIVE names that Genesis 1 reports that God gives to five things. And, these things seem to be the Earth's own prime three dynamic, feminine subsystems of its water cycle: 1. the thermally regulative day/night cycle ('day' and 'night', v. 5); 2. the thermally regulative atmosphere ('shamayim', v. 8; NOT 'ha-shamayim', for, the latter is general sky, like in Gen 2:4a); 3. the land/sea surface thermal exchange system ('earth' and 'seas', v. 10). If these three sets of things are what these verses are reporting, then it finds analogy in Adam's later naming Woman (Genesis 2:23, I believe she, likewise, names him). For, these things are the Earth's own basic, feminine subsystems for handling the Sun's radiation for benefit of life on Earth. This is why Genesis 1 says that God saw that the light (v. 3) was good. For the 'light' is in the prior context of the Earth and its wealth of water. It is not (repeat, not) physical light unto itself that God called good. It is the relation which the light has for the potential for water-based life on Earth. For, tellingly, the Genesis 1 account does not report that God names gravity, or light, or even water. Only of day-and-night, as such, and the atmosphere, and of land and sea. These are: (i) of continual regular rotation of the Earth, which moderates that 'directional' radiation for all parts of the Earth (Gen 1:4-5); (ii) the Earth's atmosphere, which further moderates that radiation to the surface (Gen 1:6-8); (iii) the continual thermal exchange of land and sea, which constitutes the thermal moderating system of Earth's thermally binary surface (Gen 1: 9-10).
