Sadly, I too am facing my second round w/ BC. Ugh. She is right ladies, the real mental game starts after everything is done. I highly encourage those who are able to seek out a therapist that specializes in trauma (medical) to help you through the "second leg" of healing.

I agree the mental far outweighs the physical in this cancer journey. I have really positive days and really anxious days. Started seeing a therapist at my cancer center and that’s been helpful. Lean on my husband a lot too. Thank you for sharing that it’s not always easy to remain positive. As always wishing you positivity and love!💪🏻💕 Will you be doing Xeloda after radiation?

This is exactly how I’m feeling. About to start radiation in 2 weeks. I’m choosing 15 rounds vs 25 rounds but will be getting a little more radiation each time ….i had my double mastectomy last year, did chemo last year. I had my expander exchange and salpingo-oopherectomy done this past January. Now I’m in the state of trying to live in a moment with a touch of anxiety … if that makes sense. Than you for all the video …it helped me a lot .

They weren’t permanent which is what my mom has. Tattoo dots. So I’m thankful it was temporary.

I did get it 5 days a week for a total of 30 sessions.

Sister if it wasn’t for me being positive during this journey with triple negative breast cancer I truly don’t think I would of made it as far as I have. I’m going on taxol chemo 11 out of 12 and then surgery. Your positivity has truly help encourage me to stay positive. Sending love and hugs from Kentucky

Marina, I'm sorry that you have to go through treatments again! My biopsy was positive for breast biopsy, moderately.invasine ductal Cancer of the left breast. Biopsy on 5/27. I had my 2nd visit w/surgeon on Tuesday. He barely went over my results. He just said, "it's the good kind of cancer, hormonal" I expressed on the first visit that I wanted a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction and no chemo or radiation. He doesn't understand my feelings. I'm 65yrs, I don't want to go through this again with just a lumpectomy, he says I don't need any radiation. So...he's ordered an MRI of the breasts and PET SCAN. I can't get an appointment till the 27th of June! Too long to wait. I have a medicare HMO so I need authorizations and I need to go to where they send me I am beyond frustrated!!!

I’m so sorry to hear that Lori! It sounds like an MRI and PET scan are the best next steps then go from there. I hope you and your surgeon can agree on a treatment plan after. I will pray for you.

@@MarinaBlackford Thank you so much! It's so odd I went from supporting cancer vlogs and now I'm part of the club nobody want's membership to! I must complain, I am very stressed on the far out availability for MRI & PET! I'm nervous my cancer will spread during these long waits!

I’m ending my 6 week radiation treatment next week. My skin did very well up until the end of the 4th week when redness, itching, peeling, blisters started to show. If you don’t already have some, I recommend loose shirts with cut off sleeves where your ribs show a bit. It allowed my skin to breathe and made it easy for me to regularly put on creams and aloe at home w/o having to undress each time.

I am in the middle of chemo…thank you for sharing your journey. It helped me so much during those first few weeks before I started treatment and was so scared. Surgery and radiation next. I’m trying to learn how to be more present and find more joy….I appreciate your videos so much

On my 3rd week after chemo,my Dra,said i have a low blood and need an injection for blood, and gave me antibiotics and pain reliver that’s also for fever. And that night my right tooth which is have cavities maybe,started bring me toothache as i also felt my lower-back feelslike started working to produce blood…maybe…causeits the oart where it produces blood. And i havent sleep well last night, and have appointment again today and tomorrow for that injection. I was ok before that injection …now i dont feel ok.

thank you. I finished chemo and will start radiation in a few weeks. Ugh. kinda scared not gonna lie. May I ask where was your tumor located. curious like in relation to where the mass was located where they issue the radiation?

My tumor was under my left armpit on the side of my reconstruction. Congrats on being done with chemo!

Marina, you have so much on your plate. Hard enough just being a wife, mother and employee. Dealing with cancer is really hard. It's no wonder at times you have anxiety. You are very strong and seem to know how to deal with everything. I admire you very much! You are so joyful with your family. It's so good that you can put the thoughts of illness aside and be a happy sweet wife and mother.
