My inner Philly just wants to project Philly all over this, but this seems like it will be unique in its own right. I do like the direction you’re headed. It’s almost a little Gotham. It’s also a bit more plausible than every other up-and-coming project city with good urbanism that seems to be in vogue.

FINALLY ! As a lifelong resident of the St.Louis area , I'm glad to see a creator somewhat using the area as inspiration. And yes the architecture for STL is very distinct due to the color of the brick that was used. I've always wanted a Ead's bridge asset made. It is , after all the oldest bridge crossing the Mississippi River. Good stuff so far.

That arch bridge from Memphis is the Hernando de Soto bridge and it's currently closed for repairs b/c they found a large crack in a fracture critical beam. Its one of the best bridge assets in the game though. It also really fits the theme of aging infrastructure in the city
@DiorDexico
@DiorDexico 3 жыл бұрын
I’m from Memphis and it’s scary to know that the crack has been there or 1-2 years. Also the design of the bridge is prone to have more structural issues as well. Beautiful bridge tho especially at night with the lights

As an architectural student, I think what you should have is a section of the downtown, that is new buildings, on the opposite shore. But have them but mid-rise commercial and residential buildings. Story/background Like this was the industrial area of the city in the early 1900s, then in the early to mid-90s the city council of Neptune City had the citizen's vote for a referendum to redevelop this area. There was a ton of government funding to redevelop the area, kind like it’s the “superfund” site of the city. Then by the mid-2000s, we see the first major construction projects come to the area. But the planning department limited the height of all new buildings to 15 stories or about 150-200 ft, to preserve the view of the skyline. It looks great and I can't wait to see what you do.

Not a fan of the LUT. Are Atlantic cities really that dreary? Love the architecture of the older buildings, but they need more breathing room. Older American downtowns tend to have a lot of parking lots and alleys. Manipulate the suspension bridge so that there are two nodes, one close to each shore, and none in the middle. Nobody ever builds a suspension bridge with one tower in the center of the river like that. It's where the river is deepest and runs swiftest and is least tolerant to blockage.
