Design D would be my choice, it's looking really good with the front portion of the house. Just my 2 cents:)

I think the additional bedrooms wing should be kept same original design & if you change design of the structure would not look as good. Then what do I know...can surprise me at your best choice for your family. I have watched all your videos & enjoy your progress..BTW happy Memorial day weekend.

I would keep the finishing materials the same and proportions same/like what is build already. I think most of the designs you showed would be fine than. But thats just me... 😅 I have always told my cliënts (when is was a independent designer) when they love it, i'm happy. So go for what you two love!! You are living in it.

The last one you were working on looked very nice. I could see that blending in nicely with the A frame. It is huge but like any space it doesn't take long to fill it up. Love the solar post lights.

This past year my wife and I sold our house and moved back home to southern Colorado. Bought 12 acres and built a small guest cabin on it to live in. Doing all the work ourselves. The main house is next. I just turned 61 and can't tell you what an inspiration you both are.

I use to lay concrete! The pea stone you used as base gravel is great to put on the surface of your sidewalks and patios. What you do is pour the concrete, level out. Spread thin layer of pea stone over top, then float into top, bringing the cream to top covering stone. Float out as sets up, edging, and cutting expansion joints. After all done spray etching chemical which comes in five gal. container from lawn sprayer over the whole surface, and cover with plastic over night. In the next morning you take garden hose, spray off surface. It will remove all the cream you brought to top, leaving the beautiful pea stone on top. Spray sealer over it, and enjoy a natural smooth surface to walk on. It feels great in bare feet, and rough enough not to slip on. Wish I could show examples, but you can look it up. God Bless, and keep the dreams alive!

What ever makes you happy and comfortable, I think the bedroom build makes the original A-frame look like an add-on. Aesthetic to me would keep the bedroom and original roofs the same height and with the A-frame extending to the bedroom and meeting at the peak. The add on looks boxy to me. The A-frame extension would have to be scalloped to fit with the bedroom. Thank you for the video.
@niconico39072 жыл бұрын
It would look good from the outside, but there won't be enough windows to provide light inside the bedroom wing and views to the outside. The problem with A frames is most of the light comes from the end.

So beautiful, and your film editing is magical! Love it!!!♥️ I would caution about putting a hotwire where birds can land on it. Our brother's attempt to keep pelicans and pigeons from landing and pooping on his dock rails with a hotwire ended up killing multiple little birds.

Your extensions plans look SO like the Tudor farm manager’s house I grew up in. It serviced the reinstatement of a Catholic Elizabethan Estate home after the original family 420 years ago was forgiven for housing the fleeing wives of the Gunpowder plot. It was further extended during the Victorian Industrial Revolution. You should include a few modern day “Priest Holes”. Could come in useful…. And your daughter will LOVE them! I’ll never forget discovering a tunnel in my family home that began in one of the attics next to a chimney with stairs that wrapped around the central chimney then underground for half a mile to the Elizabethan stately home up to behind a state bedroom wardrobe. I’m not allowed to say what was found in the tunnel other than the stalactites… Be Wild Wonderful…
