People see how hard you’re working so they decided to help you out a little with the greenhouse. You should take that as a great compliment.

Once you get the greenhouse centered back on the foundation, you probably want to either attach it to the bricks with brackets, or you could put some metal stakes in the corners and attach it to the stakes.

Quite a few people cut the barrels add holes to the bottom, and plant small trees, perennials, all sorts of things. One person used "glow in the dark" paint, making spooky faces just for fun. Certainly unique. 😄

Rodents and daffodils don't work because the daffodil bulbs are toxic. I don't know if they're deadly, but I do know rodents (voles, etc) won't dig there. In front of the greenhouse would make a great place for a deep container of some sort for flowers, trailing would be beautiful. You have good people there, doing things for others behind the scenes. That's always a good indication of the way people will behave. Someone mentioned putting a mail box in the middle of the garden for small tools and stuff like strings, etc. it's possible to lock, and is weatherproof. Just an idea.
@swenger27a11 күн бұрын
Maybe you should put your shed in the back where all the nettles grow. It might be a pain to try to clear out all the weeds etc to grow plants.
@sindyspencer12011 күн бұрын
Just today I came home with 9 packets of different zinnia and sunflower seed varieties! For your back area, I would suggest putting something down to deter weeds, then having a row of birdfeeders and houses, since you enjoy them so much. You could also add a feeder that has a cage around it to keep out larger birds.
@Ragt0p9 күн бұрын
May I suggest putting down paver stones on the bed area in front of your greenhouse? The stones will block the light and hopefully not allow marestail or nettles to grow. It would allow you to put planters on top. In a season or two, the earth will have fewer weeds, and hopefully work like a regular bed. Looking forward to following you in the coming season!

I missed you Seren! I too, stand and just look at my garden. I’m thinking about what I will be planting and what needs repair. Many years ago I read a book about the creative process (I don’t remember the title of the book), but it explained the time artists spend just thinking and not actually making can be termed as CREATIVE IDLENESS. How interesting is that! You are not wasting time when you do this. Right now, here in New York it is absolutely freezing. Windchill temperatures are about 25º Fahrenheit. We are expecting snow. So I just spend time at my window looking out to my garden and being creatively idle! I envy you for being able to go out to your allotment to do some work. I so enjoy seeing you on your journey. Looking forward to your next episode. ❤

Hi-I’m old and think I know everything and have heard it all. I try not to share too much because I love your channel and don’t want to be a nuisance. But I did find something interesting that you may like to use for starting seeds as the greenhouse has been damaged. To save time, start at 12 minutes for 2 tips kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4DclYZpma97edEsi=e2h5HA91zTRhprCz it’s a use for plastic jugs/bottles as a mini greenhouse to just plant seeds in the open, and even harden them off as well for that matter. It’s a pretty decent idea as well as the one after to protect against frost. I’m always looking to recycle and use something easily available. Most of the other tips are okay but pretty well known. She does give a good source for finding cardboard in the tip just before these two…those taller pallets at Tesco/supermarkets. And later there is a tip of using poundland wire wastepaper baskets as deterrent to animals eating new plants… I don’t know what to do to protect your bulbs though. I have the same problem with our squirrels and chipmunks!
