Swear to god, a white extra shmedium crop top would be great for Detig, he could win some serious wet T-Shirt contests! Also I do believe the K-20 could in fact not just be the fastest/quickest Diesel on the channel, but also the fastest Chevy on the channel of done right like Zach was saying...watch out Wes, you might have some competition secretly coming after you!

Definitely torque most bolts dry. Obviously head studs are specified to be torqued wet. But Most bolts if lubed will over torque and go beyond their yield point. I am an engineer for the green tractor company and 99% of all bolts are torqued dry with the torque specified for the coating or surface treatment of the fastener to get the desired clamp load.

Let Zack know those head bolts will not stretch. You are performing a torque. The only way there would stretch would be if you tensioned them. Very different processes and reason in bolting. I’m not an engineer but have been doing both for a long time.

incorrect on his Detroit definition the 71 stands for the amount of cubic inch per cylinder. Not anything to do with the blower the blowers on a detroit were never intended for performance being a 2 stroke engine. They don't have a exhaust stroke so they use a blower to force the burn exhaust gas out of the cylinder. So if you see 12v71 it means 12 cylinders V configuration engine 71 cubic inches per cylinder. If you see 12v92 it means 12 cylinders V configuration engine 92 cubic inches per cylinder.
@squarebody_Tig
@squarebody_Tig 3 жыл бұрын
Sadly Ryan edited that part out but I went into detail about this and how the v configurations came like 30 years after the original inline 71 series. But retained the 71 series identifier bc of the displacement per cylinder. I work on v12, i3 and i4s at work all 71 series
@squarebody_Tig
@squarebody_Tig 3 жыл бұрын
Zack was just speaking about the blower that comes on the motor and wasn’t making a connection to the series.
