Man, it had to feel good destroying those briars and underbrush after all the bushwhacking you've done (especially on the North side). Ripper too big for those little twigs of trees, would waste far too much time compared to just using the bucket and thumb. But agree with you about the exhaust for the kitty. I was thinking more like what Mike (dirt perfect) did on his truck. Nice, thick box tube that can be cut & welded so it runs up beside the side pillar for the cab increasing forward visibility which would be better for KZbin videos.

That's still amazes me how powerful that D6 is. It sat for months and you pick it up and start putting it through it's passes immediately. Goes to show what property maintaining your equipment and actually knowing what you are buying when you look at auctions. You can see how bad it is when you hit a stump even though the camera.

It really depends on what you’re trying to do. If you are grading or doing any fine work a newer dozer with GPS is going to be better and more efficient. Also if you’re hiring employees, most people want an air conditioned cab. If you’re a small operation though and you just need to move mass amounts of dirt and clear, it’s hard to beat the old iron. There are definitely pros and cons to new vs old.

Try opening the clam on that 943 drop it over forward and backup undercutting all the sticks that are left kind of like a sod cutting machine works. Always worked good for me and saved a lot of time. Usually have to bump it closed just a skosh to get it running parallel with the surface. Just don't go forward with it open or you will bust a hose if it hangs up.

Great videos and like that old iron. You keep your equipment in good condition with regular maintenance and cleaning. That speaks bundles for your commitment to quality which in turn shows in your work. I would like to suggest that you name projects and then sequence the videos with number/letter designation. This would sure help old guys like me to follow a project. Returns to visit past projects to see results would be great also. There was one huge pond with a barn near it comes to my mind but then they all seem to have a barn.

Something I've always thought,the D6 seems as though all the power is going out the exhaust and not turning into power at the tracks ! Almost like it's low geared ,and are those stumps that are stopping her in her tracks ? A root rake on the loader would give a wider clearance and be more effective due to you lifting up and pushing ! Nice to see the machines getting a run in big paddocks

@teampenn20076 ай бұрын
Chris, why not use your mulcher on it first and then rake through for the roots and small stumps?
@bishopcorva6 ай бұрын
Maybe a burn pit instead of a pile, because I'm thinking there may be a fair amount of small roots and junk that'll get bladed up. Only unknown though is where such a pit would go on the property where it wouldn't be in the way of a current or future build project. Either way, looks like the projects are going to be quite interesting, as well as the addition to the 330 when it's unveiled.
