@@crazyyLexaI've used 98, XP, Vista, 7, 8.1, 10 and 11. 10 is the most unstable and bonkers operating system I've ever used (though I'm certain Me is infinity worse). I was getting upwards of six blue screens a day at its launch, and that was vanilla. XP is the most stable and fastest Windows release in my experience. Eleven in its current state is close behind.

The sounds of the desktop cpu take me back straight away. So nostalgic My grandparents use to have a LG Monitor with Microsoft windows XP for the cpu and the beeps and the fan motor sound so nostalgic to hear.

@@Matkustaja Yep, I'm unfortunately using Windows 10, which has to be sentient at all times and prevent me from altering settings because I don't have my activation key for it. I remember with Windows XP even if the OS wasn't activated you could still change things, or reset the activation or at least change the desktop. Windows 10/11 feel like such a pain in the ass, I really hate the nearly forced e-mail login... you know what? Win 10/11 feels like Windows XP with every spyware / virus installed on it-- considering how it needs to track everything just like spyware lol

I'm about 10 years older and its kind of funny how my experience was the opposite. they had me pulling out old "floppy b" drives that i'd never seen before, then at home my dad's PC could run CD Rom games my teacher would get mad because i kept closing browser tabs for speed because they were okay with screens rendering slower than reading speed

This, this is my childhood. I remember those boot logos, especially the big 'energy' word and the star logo. The excitement of going home after school (or the time when I stay a night at my oldest bro home) and playing the Age of Empires 2 or Red Alert 2. It's really the best, I own a system that is much more powerful than my oldest bro back in the day. And yet, the experience is not the same; I lost that excitement I had when I was a kid. That was 2003 & 2004, man time flies really 🥀

I love large towers like that, those were often used as servers, with the scsi drives. I owned a couple very large towers from windows XP and server 2003 days, as i was studying it. A few years ago now, i decided to rebuild my lab for the sake of old school, Got another nice large tower, and this time i went the whole hog, Dual processor board, Maxed ram, large IDE controller for raid, 2 floppy drives. 3 burners basically the system i wanted 20 years ago for server use. It can run anything from windows 3.51 to 2003 server. I rebuilt two desktop pcs as clients again, those can go far down as MSDOS right to windows XP.

Nah looks like a mid to late 90's type of case. That was shortly before WinXP. There weren't really any PCs around 40 years ago except for maybe Commodore which was just a fancy keyboard basically.

one day i invited to my friend office, and what amazed me is 2 staff work with pentium 4 windows xp used web, e mail, and new application and its still working in that way with old tech on this era. even i visit in 2023.

I still use a machine like this to run specialist software that was never updated to newer platforms. I also run a 30-year old laptop with Windows 3.11 for a similar reason - files with only 8 characters in the name is challenging!

That computer and monitor look a lot older than 2003-4. I got my first laptop in 2004, a Dell Inspiron, and it was so cutting edge at that time. Even today it still looks comparable to newer laptops although the operating system is ancient.
