Stash or Destash - two diamond paintings I'm not sure about keeping

I think the choice on this one will be completely due to personal interest. I hear you kind of hesitant on the idea of the pale/white background on Aveline, and interested in the special drills of the Dreamer Designs. (And yes, YG is glow in the dark.) I think the biggest detractor for me on the Cave is the render of the people. They’re supposed to be the focus of the piece but they’re so small that it’s impossible to render neatly. I personally *love* all of Cheryl Baker’s art and have both Aveline and Garnock in my stash. I’ve seen a picture in the VIP group of Aveline finished and she turned out just absolutely lovely. Small enough that the painter hung her on the magnetic style frames and put her on the wall, and it is just a really attractive piece. But again, I can hear in your voice that your personal style might be the opposite of what my choice for keeping would be. ❤

I like the owl. The cave is pretty but idk about the people, the detail doesn't look so good. But they are both pretty 😊

I prefer the owl, though the colours in the other are amazing! But I read some comments so would get rid of it .

The owl I’ve had my eye on as I have 4 of Cheryl Baker’s art pieces already. That and the male counter part. I’d keep it myself. The “The Enchanted Castle” looks beautiful and the artist does an awesome job with his art work but I’ve not worked on a DD in a while. DAC is supposed to be to be working on making the edges of the cover sheets more apparent. Thank you for sharing. I think I’d stash the owl, but destash the Enchanted Castle, but I do like that too. Thanks for the comment! It was fun to finally look at the canvases, but it's making my choices harder! I need to not look at them. The special drills of the Enchanted Cave are just too tempting.

I picked up the book "Van Gough A Self Portrait" was wondering if you had read it. Looks interesting, about letters revealing his life as a painter?

I have not. I found one called The Life and Works of Van Gogh, but yours sounds more interesting. I'll look for it!

The Owl is nice. I’d keep it. What do you mean by color book style? The second one looks like fun to work on with all the colors.

To me, color book style is dark outlines, with filled in lighter areas. Not quite like stained glass, but kind of the same. All the feathers on the wings have a dark brown outline, then are filled in with lighter colors.

the owl has way to much color blocking i would love to see the cave done. I mean really its stunning and so very bright.

Holy smokes! I’m working on Enchanted Cave as we speak!!! The artwork is STUNNING! Absolutely stunning! And it’s the worst kit you will ever work on. It’s almost convinced me to stop DP-ing forever. The drills are absolute trash and the gapping is an utter nightmare. I don’t even know why I’m finishing it. You can literally see the symbols behind the drills cuz the drill field is too big. This canvas is a trainwreck. I don’t know how to convince you. Get rid of it!!! Granted the artwork is breath taking. The lotus flowers look like they’re illuminated-they are so sparkly and gorgeous. But with the light pad under this canvas, the rows look like jack-o’-lantern teeth. It’s not fun and you’ll find excuses not to work on it. 😮

Ugh. That's a bit disappointing to hear. I think it's going back in the closet for now. The gapping surprises me. There are a lot of dark drills, though. Those can be rougher to work with.

@@sjtwxgirl I wish I could find the identical painting by another company. I’d literally redo it as a comparison. The artwork is just sooo stunning, 🤩 But Dreamers Design is in the doghouse with me.
