Great testing. Just scored a Condor Lost Roman knife in 1075. I've never tried this steel, but I was able to touch it up on ceramics pretty quick.

Would be more useful without that flipper tab. Also that top swedge would surely make it uncomfortable to put your thumb or fore-finger on the spine during use without gloves, which I found to be the deal-breaker for me with the Civivi Durus (very similar blade). Good review as usual.

I caught a Sencut Episode on sale for less than $25 and was really shocked how well it was made. After seeing this, The ArcBlast is on my list. Sencut is making good knives.

It's about $10 over where it needs to be since the remodeled Kizer Amicus runs nitro v for $39.99. However I do like this design a lot better and might buy it as a gift.

Looks like another banger for sencut. For me, im pretty much done with anything under 3.25" blade wise.

I hope they'll make a satin blade one with green aluminum handles. If they could throw in purple standoffs or a purple backspacer, it would have a similar aesthetic to the iconic Benchmade 940 Osborne, but it would cost a small fraction of the price.

With a button lock, 2 questions I would always like to see answered: will the blade shake out, and does the button stick. Please include those in your reviews.

Thanks for the review, you pretty much convinced me to add it to my wishlist. Great little workers that will be. The only thing I'm not too big on are the colors. When the choice is between satin and black for a knife I intend to put into heavier work, I prefer black and black+black is boring and red+black is too flashy. I wish it was available in green alu like the Serene. Still, it's a great little blade right there.

They need to make a light burnt or smoked orange type color handle with a black blade. Aluminum looks so good in that color tone.

Definitely more of a work knife than the Cubit, and at a cheaper price at that. WKC/Civivi/Sencut definitely knows what they are doing by hitting the knife market at all 3 price points while still delivering the same high quality they provide on their top tier knives.

This may be a stupid question but what is the difference between hollow grind and flat grind and how do you tell the difference? I'm learning alot about knives but still have alot to learn. I thought briefly that a hollow grind meant the inside of the blade was hollow making it weaker. - "Get your styrofoam infused blade right here at, Knives for Knuckleheads! I just can't believe that people are still swallowing up Protech Malibus with the quality of Civivi button locks. I always thought the Malibu was a washerless button lock ala Houge's offerings, but I recently discovered they are bearing pivots. How can Protech charge what they do for a knife that is identical in construction to these and others recently released from WE/Civivi/Sencut other than blade steel (which provides little real value to me) and people eat them up? I don't care if it is 9cr or magnacut, I will always hone my blades after use regardless so why spend so much extra just because of steel? Protech just disgusts me anymore.

I tried 2 elementums and both had annoying lock stick. Never tried a Malibu, but I hear the lock is smoother?

Wages are simply much higher in the USA because the cost of living is much higher, and the cost of doing business is also much higher due to many factors. The price of goods and services produced in the USA reflects this. Also, in general, American businesses adhere to patent and copyright laws. Not so in China.

It is foolish to think that in 2024 people in manufacturing will work for a bowl of rice. look at the quality of budget knives - Civivi, We, Sencut, Kaizer, even the budget Ganzo or PF - the manufacturing quality of these knives now easily competes with global brands, and this is only possible with high-quality equipment and excellent specialists. If you look at the overall quality of food produced in China today, the rice bowl thesis sounds ridiculous.
