I read a comment you put on "What RUINED Klasky Csupo? (The DOWNFALL of Nickelodeon's Original Studio)" by Saberspark and I think you should watch "A better schedule for Nickelodeon's main block" by Evan Rosman.

That's just it. It's all about luck. You can calculate every single step you take in the industry all you want, but somewhere along the way you'll meet someone who got lucky in the industry. No survey can change that. I worked in fan projects and as such, know the basics but haven't partaken in any major project yet due to hardcore budgeting.

Weeeeelllll… I get your point, but to say it’s “ALL” about luck isn’t entirely true. In my experience, “luck” usually happens when you’ve got the motivation to act when opportunities present themselves. My luck was the result of having moved to LA at a time when there were a million animation projects starting up and studios were hiring anyone who could hold a pencil. But my move out there happened because I had been reading the signals, so while I was “lucky” that the industry needed people at the time, everything else was the result of me rolling the dice and betting on myself (and getting rejected 500 times first).

I got a really good chuckle out of """""The TOONion""""" lol, I think just that you've even agreed to facilitate this kind of thing is incredible. I only wish I had time to join in myself! Perhaps one day… And I wouldn't worry about not hitting those premiere goals, but do try to get a nickel for all the ones you miss!
