if this was a debate, Gary had no business being on it. Matt Shodell dog walked Gary on this. Congrats Matt of this prestigious honor of winning the great debate.

I don't think the evaluations are as far off as they seem. I think the biggest problem was development. Remember development is more than physical training. Some of these young men simply weren't developed properly. I also think development has improved drastically since Mario hired the new staff. 🙌

Matt and Gary out of curiosity I'd like to see you guys do Mario's Oregon recruiting classes. Not a whole show on it because this is obviously a Hurricane channel but just tell us what the hit rate percentage is
@EKthaPKАй бұрын
@Gary @Matt You need a constant variable such as the 2001 National Championship team or the last three National Championship teams to compare against our current State of the Union.
@lowage88Ай бұрын
Understand you can’t have a hit rate higher than a certain number without affecting the other class. 60% does not math
@williamcroaff7730Ай бұрын
Gotta agree with Matt yet again on this one.

Here’s what I understand. The programs that figure out how to hit on more than 45% of their talent acquisitions are gonna be the ones that thrive in the modern day system. To me 4 of 10 isn’t good enough - Gary
@hurricanehaze4727Ай бұрын
Gary let Mat do the Math, he is right again about the 40% hit rate vs the 60%. There is a reason no school in the country has back to back 60% hit rates in recruiting. Not Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, or anyone else.

GT has a department that does all the evaluations, and the department tells the coaches who to recruit instead of relying on coaches for identifying talent. Basically, it's like a minor pro league team.

Gary’s math must’ve been used for Mario’s contract.

When you don't understand the evidence, change the parameters of the argument.

Shannon, Golden, Richt, Manny had good transitional classes why does Mario get excuses? Everyone forgot with the praise when he took over and everyone saved the class and had a better class than UF and FSU
@kelbob00Ай бұрын
All of those coaches had plenty of people making excuses for them while they were coaching at Miami.

Run up the excuses for lovers boy Mario!

Gary be so wrong. I think Gary loves hearing himself. Matt is cooking. I think Mario needs to hire Matt in the scouting department. Keep teaching Matt. Gary just taking up space.

Good thing Gary is a tough old bird (like me) who has been doing this for a while because these comments are brutal ! ☠️ 😂😂

Seem as if you are saying the coaches that came before Mario did more with less when it comes to recruits the records don’t lie so if Mario have better recruits I want to see his record better than his predecessors Gary

Manny finished 21-15 at UM. Worst ACC season 4-4. Randy had the exact same 1st 2 seasons; 5 -7 and 7 -6. If Mario wins 9 games this season (like Randy did year 3) then he will be 21-19. Worse than Manny. By any metric, Mario is below average as a Miami HC. I don't care about Oregon. So he needs to win in excess of 11 games just to have less losses than Manny.

You two are playing “Monday morning recruitment class” to talk about these classes like they are the reason Miami was unsuccessful the last two years is crazy to me! We didn’t lose to Mid Tenn, Duke, Pitt, GT, NC State or Rutgers because of talent. And if you’re using class ranking as the guide stone to who recruited better they’ve no reason to be losing to Louisville and FSU either! This is not, and has not been, a talent problem. It’s all on the coaches. Development, scheme, and yearly turnover are the reason for Miamis foibles… more so than overall talent anyway.

Gary just proved he doesn't understand math! And he yells his head off defending his poor math. Just let Matt cook.
@trip5497Ай бұрын
Gary, bruh. I know Matt wants off but maybe you can step off and let the folks who know how to do basic math analysis have it.
