@@harshtruth5003 Yes sir, very tragic. I know the promotion was very small, but it's definitely a tragedy worthy of getting its own Dark Side of the Ring episode. The promotion's top heel (who was about to get an opportunity in the WWF thanks to Pat Patterson), a legendary manager and the territory's best referee all died that night, it doesn't get more tragic than that. RIP to all three of them.

One thing about abdullah, which was a bit uncommon in the 80's and the 70's, was that he really didn't care about his gimmick once he was outside the arena. He'd walk around with his big gold rings and talk to people in english, so you know the dude had nothing to do with Sudan, i guess he really enjoyed meeting people, which you can't really blame him for that. But back then a lot of those guys didn't drop the act when they'd go out in public back then. It was a different time, guys took their gimmick very seriously, but abby didn't care. Every now and then he'd still pull out the fork and make like he'd stab someone, or would scare journalists etc.. He'd definitely turn it on if there were any cameras in the vicinity.
